I have a Logitech Webcam C920S HD Pro, but the image is blurry across every app, and even locally when viewing through OBS. I have good lighting, but I think this has to do with auto focusing (I can occasionally put my fingers in front of the lens to "force" the focus onto my face, which then looks very crisp).
Based on some googling, I think I need to use Logitech's software to turn autofocus OFF, or modify the depth of field somehow.
My question: Am I able to install the Logitech tool once, adjust the camera's native settings, and then remove the Logitech software forever? Or do I need to have the Logitech software installed and/or running on every boot? (which is not my preference).
Bonus question: What actual software do I need here? On the website I see something called "Logi Tune" and also a separate exe called "camera settings".
Alternatively, if anyone can recommend a plug-and-play USB webcam that "just works" without this nonsense, I'm all ears.

Hi all,
I am using the Logitec C920 HD Pro Webcam on Windows 11. I have just moved from Windows 10. On my old Windows 10 computer, I use to have a Logitec Camera Settings application. This application would allow me to switch the camera from the standard to widescreen views. There does not seem to be the equivalent app available for Windows 11.
Does anyone know how I can change this webcam to the widescreen view on Windows 11?
I just received a Logitech C920S camera (December 25, 2021). It seemed to me that the camera would not work. Permissions were already granted on my computer. I plugged the camera into different USB ports. I restarted my computer with the camera connected and disconnected. I checked to ensure that my computer had registered that the camera had been connected. None of these things worked.
Finally, I went to the Logitech website, thinking that perhaps I needed to download the software for the camera. That was the answer. The camera does not download or install any software to your system when you connect it, so it is not plug and play. Connect the camera, go to the Logitech website and download the appropriate software program. For the C920s, the proper software is the Logitech Capture. I hope sharing this experience helps someone resolve their camera issue.
Hi KevF2,
If your driver has not been updated, it is normal for the Rollback button to be gray. And to provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details:
- Your two different computers have encountered different situations, so we want to understand the difference between these two devices, their system version and computer specification. You may click hereto check.
Because some OEMs (such as Lenovo) may install OEM proprietary privacy applications on their machine, which will then cause this problem.
- What error will be reported when the camera app is opened?
Same. Not only that but on my Acer Helios Predator 300, plugging in the logitech after the latest Jan 2024 win 11 update, it also disables my Universal Audio audio interface.
I have the same camera and I'm not having any problems with mine. See the images below. I have Windows 11 Pro 23H2. I also have and use Logitech Capture. Have you looked at the website?

I'll add this image too that shows the two places in Device Manager that my microphone/camera are found.
Hello folks, i have a problem since the Windows 11 Updates which released on Thursday the 10th August.
Everytime i attach the cam to my notebook, the windows audio service stopps and cant be started until i draw the cable.
I talked to the windows support and after a few minutes testing around, they said i should ask the manufacturer of the cam. So here i am.
Has anyone else the same problem?
I looked through Logitech's website but the only software they offer for this camera is Logitech Capture. Where are the bare-bones drivers plz?
