Hey everyone,
I was wondering if this headset would work on my Xbox One. On Logitech's website it just states PC and PS4. I'm really into the design, but if they don't work for Xbox One, could you guys recommend me a pair that is good and would work instead?
Honestly. Why the FUCK would you make a gaming headset that isn’t compatible with a fucking Xbox or PlayStation. That’s the dumbest shit I’ve ever heard.
Hi there. I have no clue if the G733 works with Xbox, but I too am interested. I wanted to try and answer the second part of the question the best I can because I have been searching for a good headset for so long and tried so many different headsets that I feel specially qualified to answer. Sorry in advance if this rambles a bit.
I have always been a Turtle Beach guy. I have used the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 for Xbox One for the past 3 years, and I love them. They connect directly to your Xbox so no USB dongle or anything to plug in. They have bluetooth capability so you can connect to your phone, an option for sound cancelling, and surround sound. A built in slider for game/chat mix and a separate dial for master volume. They have been great as my daily driver, but recently the left headpiece fell off when I dropped it, so I've been shopping around.
I started with the Steel Series Arctis 1 for Xbox One. This headset was at best okay. If you've never had a wireless headset and want a cheap entry point, these are great. Not many features though and really lacking when it came to the overall build. Felt a bit cheap for $100. They were probably the closest to appearing like normal headphones out of any pair I've used though. The only feature built into them was a mute slider.
Then I went a bit crazy and tried the Astro A40 with Mixamp which cost $250. I figured it has to be good if it costs that much, and I was wrong. The headset is actually fine, it sounds great and seemed very sturdy. However, in order to use the mixamp, you must plug in and optical cable and a usb cable to the xbox, a 3.5 - 2.5mm headphone jack from the headset, and a 3mm jack between the mixamp and the controller. After setting it up the first time, my honest reaction was WTF. What kind of Xbox gamer wants a lap full of cords going to their Xbox. I was incredibly disappointed with that headset to say the least. If you go for this headset, I recommend you ditch the mixamp and purchase the just the headset. This headset, however, has no on-headset sliders so you will need an adapter of some kind to adjust chat and master volume.
Thirdly, I tried the HyperX Cloud Flight for Xbox One wireless. This headset was probably the best one so far. Very sleek comfortable design and better options. On-headset slider for master volume, and some weird buttons for the chat balance. My issues with this headset are honestly pretty obnoxious problems. The fact the chat mixer and mute buttons do not even feel like they click when you press them is super annoying. You get used to it but it is not very intuitive. Also, the chat mixer only works like 50% of the time. I have had to disconnect and reconnect the headset numerous times to even get this feature to work. Sound quality is fine. Doesn't necessarily blow me away, but my friends have complained that this microphone very noticeably degrades the quality of my voice. It also will pick up sound from the headset if you have the volume up too loud - a problem I did not have with other headsets.
I am so lost right now. I feel like no headset has given me a better experience than my Stealth 700's. I have given all of these headsets a chance to grow on me but they never did. I just saw that the Stealth 700's have a Gen 2 coming out on 9/20. Maybe I will have to order a pair and update the post with my findings...
Anyway, that's my findings so far as a normal dude who plays Siege and other games where audio is important.
