My wife wants to start streaming. I just got her a dedicated microphone and need a webcam. Setup is tight so it has to clip to the top of the monitor and because there is a shelf above it a dlsr won’t really fit. I’m unsure of how much my wife will stream or how long she plans to keep this up so I want to start small and invest in it more if it’s really what she wants to do. Is the streamcam good for starting out at 50 dollars? It’s 1080p60, I’ve never streamed but I don’t imagine many people are streaming at higher resolutions than 1080p because of the overhead with higher resolutions and the bandwidth limitations. I understand where a higher quality sensor such as a dlsr would help but since this is a beginner setup I really just want to make sure that the picture would at least be bearable with the streamcam.

Hi all, I'm just getting started streaming music production on Twitch and looking to upgrade on my inbuilt webcam, I've looked into a few webcams and based on Google the Logitech Streamcam is the one that comes out on top, can anyone vouch for this?
The price is within my budget so if there's an alternative for a similar price (maybe a bit more) that would be better please let me know! Any help is massively appreciated.
Thanks in advance x
Theres two or three posts about this already but they were from a couple years ago. How do you lock the auto rotate for a top down view. You cant tell me that its not possible, the new "logitech reach" coming out is using the exact same streamcam just with a fancy arm. The whole selling point of that is that its looking down at the desk. Its clearly turned off on this "new" camera.
I work remotely and just started using a Logitech StreamCam to get better video quality. (We use Zoom for video calls.) Do I need to run Logitech Capture Software to get the best video quality (full HD + 60 FPS)? Zoom gives me options to select the webcam itself or Logitech Capture but I'm not able to see a difference between the two options.
These are at identical price points(170) and I’m looking to mainly use it for streaming while I play. Does anyone have experience with one or both of these and can give a recommendation!
Hi guys, i've bought this cam some day ago and today i installed it but something it's not ok.
I connect the webcam directly to the SS20 USB-C port on my motherboard (Asus Z690-A).
You can see the quality in this video: https://imgur.com/a/6Gha75Q
I know it's with not much light but i try to lights also other lights but the quality remains the same.
I try to download Logitech Capture, Logitech Tunein, and modify the settings on G-hub but that disturb you can see in the video remains.
Has anyone had the same experience as me and solved it somehow or do you think the webcam is faulty?
I want to get a better webcam because the Logitech StreamCam just isn't enough. Are there any webcams that are worth considering? I really can't go DLSR.
What do you need from the cam that the stream cam isn’t giving you? From memory the stream cam does 1080p at 60fps, which for the average user is more than adequate
You have two options. First option is go DLSR. The second option is figure out if there's a way to improve your StreamCam settings. As a fellow StreamCam user, the one thing I've found is that a large white source helps it to zero in on the correct colors. Another option is a Color Correction filter that's set at exactly the color that's missing, which... would be a royal pain in the butt to figure out.
Elgato facecam price 160€ Logitech streamcam price 87€ Ehat should i buy for best quality for gaming streaming
I have a Logitech Stream Cam I bought a while back for use with my YouTube videos. I have two DSLRs on tripods and the small form factor appealed to me.
Since day one, this thing has been awful.
Colors are all wrong and for the price, a desktop webcam half the price is much more vivid and reliable.
90% of the time, this USB C camera isn't detected on SLOBs/OBS. The port works fine for other devices.
Did I just get a bad one? Or are these all terrible?
Is there any sort of firmware updates to these things?
Hi guys didn't really know where to post so trying on this twitch subreddit :) I see the topic of webcams come up a lot anyway...
Right now in 2023 Logitech has a crap ton of webcams out on the marked. But I have narrowed it down to the Logitech streamcam (2020) vs the newer brio 500 (2022). I cant find any comparison videos vs these two - The streamcam has worse features/stand mechanism and higher price by a bit, while the brio 500 has stuff like sticky mount and privacy shutter - And as we all know even the c920, the old one from 2016 wont look much better after some software tinkering, so Id mainly look into the newer stuff they added.
So right now im tempted to save money and hope the features of the brio 500 will be better, cause from all I can see is that you loose the 60 FPS on 1080p which the bit more costly streamcam can do.
And side-question; There is prolly 0% chance any will know this (Not many bought oled monitors yet ^^), but how would the mount on these webcams handle very thin and slim bezel on oled screens? We will all probably eventually buy one for gaming, I know I will when prices dropped, and I could worry if either can mount, cause the oled TVs are as thin as a coin etc.
Good evening everybody,
today I've received my "Logitech Streamcam" as I wanted to have a webcam that is capable of recording in 1080p and 60fps.After I've plugged the webcam into my motherboard's USB-C port and installed the Logitech Capture software, I enabled the 1080p and 60fps setting in the program.
For about 1 minute I was able to get a preview of my webcam and everything was working fine. After a minute passed, the preview was starting to get more laggy until windows notified me with following message:
- Not enough USB-Controller ressources -
The Controller has not enough ressources to power this device
As soon as I received the notification I wasn't able to set the webcam's resolution to 1080p or 60fps anymore and it only supported 720p. If I set the resolution as well as the fps in Nvidias Broadcast program directly to 1080p and 60fps I instantly receive the notification and my webcam works again only in 720p.
Is there perhaps anything wrong with my USB-C port? The odd thing is that I didn't come across this type of problem with my Oculus Quest 2 connected to the same USB-C port. Therefore I am not sure what the possible reason for the problem could be. Maybe someone had similiar issue or got any advice on how I could possibly fix this problem? :)
Motherboard: Asus Maximus VIII Ranger (Bios Version: 1701)
USB-C Port: ASMedia USB 3.1 eXtensible Host Controller (Version: 1.16.35.1 Date: 2016-04-14)
GPU: Nvidia Geforce RTX 3080
PSU: 1000 Watt be quiet! Straight Power 11 (Bought it new in 2020)
OS: Windows 10 Education 64Bit (Version: 10.0.19041, Build 19041)

Comparison: https://imgur.com/a/WXGb6CO
I have tried changing the settings within OBS and the Logitech software. The above comparison is the EXACT same settings for both webcams and the EXACT same lighting.
I have 2 LED lights that I use on low brightness that I have used for months now with the C920 and have lit the webcam up perfectly. But now with the Streamcam even with the lights on FULL brightness, it looks extremely noisy/grainy.
Another comparison (FULL brightness on LEDs): https://imgur.com/a/IPwHJns
And another comparison (bedroom light on): https://imgur.com/a/88ilEpW
The Streamcam all around just looks so much worse IMO. Even if I change the Streamcam to 30fps it barely improves the color/grain and STILL looks worse. Watching comparisons of the webcams together I have not seen this issue... super confused and would really appreciate any sort of help!
Looking for a solid camera that’ll last me years. Heard about the Logitech C920, C922, and razor kiyo…
Hello, so i bought a Logitech streamcam a couple of days ago, i downloaded the Logitech Capture program and directly saw a warning saying
'Connect your Logitewch streamcam on a USB 3.0 port to get 60 FPS'
I connected my streamcam via USB-C on the ROG STRIX Z390-E GAMING motherboard, i also tried to connect it to the USB-C port on my NZXT H510i Case, this gave my the same message.Does anyone know what i'm doing wrong?
