Where should I look for skirts (midi/maxi) and dresses (midi/maxi)? I'm not a fan of buying from sites such as shein due to personal opinions (quality, ethics, ect). Does anyone have good places to buy modest but cute dresses and skirts at a reasonable price. I don't want to spend hundreds of dollars but also know that I'm going to have to pay more for better quality.

I am super basic, so I often get my stuff at Target. The women's section near the front is geared for thin teens and thin young women, but they also have a section geared to larger women and a section geared to middle-age women. Those latter two sections usually have good stuff. In the middle-age women's section, I've found two maxi skirts (which are midi on me bc I'm tall) that have pockets the size of men's pants pockets. Edit: and they were each ~$30.

I've found a few on Amazon, and you may be able to find some in thrift stores (especially because you're a lot shorter than me and I can only ever find things a little too short for me). If you're sewing inclined, have access to a machine, or are willing to learn and don't mind handsewing, there are a Ton of really cool ways to make a skirt. I'd recommend a full circle skirt or half circle skirt to make it looser and flowy-er. Those are also cool because you can add pockets.

I buy most of my clothes from thrift shops. I'm also 5ft 2, I learned a trick from the wardrobe lady from a show I was in. I can fit into most of the girls larger sizes of pants and skirts and I don't have to hem them, win, win. It only sometimes works for dresses and tops because I have a D cup. But honestly this has saved me a lot of time and aggravation and they are usually less expensive as well. I only wear pants out of my home if they are obviously feminine. I'm 71 and converted to the Conservative stream of Judaism about a year and a half ago, and modesty is pretty much up to me, I have been slowly making changes over time to what works for me.
