I contested the ticket because the zone is wrong and I was parking in the time frame that was correct but the dude gave me a $100 ticket. I have been searching up the ticket and my plate but it keeps saying there is no record. Does this take like a month to show up?
I recently sold my car, but before the sale, I had to park it on the street without plates for a short time. During that time, I got three parking tickets, where the enforcement officer wrote the VIN instead of a license plate.
The physical tickets were regrettably left out in the rain, so I threw them away. I tried looking them up on the city’s parking ticket payment website, but they don’t have an option to search by VIN. I called customer service, and they said they can’t look up tickets by VIN either—only by license plate. However, they also said that there are no outstanding tickets under the old plate number (which was removed before I got the tickets).
I want to pay these tickets ASAP so they don’t somehow get transferred to the new owner of the car. What are my options for finding and paying them? Will the city eventually associate them with my name, or could they just disappear if they’re not tied to a plate? I’d rather resolve this before it becomes a bigger issue.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
