The only way this film remotely works is if one were to assume that John Hammond has gone completely crazy, his mind breaking after the events of the previous film, because the idea of sending four people on a "research" expedition to an island full of free-roaming dinosaurs - a team consisting of a paleontologist, a video documentarian, an equipment specialist and a mathematician - is about the stupidest thing I've ever heard. They don't even bring along a professional hunter and are only equipped with one bloody tranq gun. More on reddit.com

Jurassic Park exploded on the scene in so many ways. It blew us away The Lost World didn’t. It was just…fine And by the time it had come out, many people had now read the book of the now movie The Lost World, due to the popularity of Jurassic Park Movie, and the movie didn’t live up to the book at all. The book even has a lot of action and cool stuff that for no apparent reason they just didn’t use in the movie. The whole San Diego story part didn’t go over well either. More on reddit.com

It’s one of the most underrated films I’ve ever seen. I certainly don’t understand people who think JP/// is better. Spielberg directed the HELL out of this one. In my opinion, it’s also Jeff Goldblum’s best performance. He’s actually very good at playing traumatized yet sarcastic, which is the vibe of the whole movie. Also, the visual effects and animatronics look the BEST here. This is also the only movie in the original trilogy in which the main character is EMOTIONALLY compelled to go to the island, rather than just bribed with money, immediately upping the stakes which is what a sequel should do. The cinematography in this film also leaves me SPEECHLESS. This film is the entire reason why I’m obsessed with filmmaking in general. Sarah, Kelly, Nick, Eddie and Roland are also great supporting characters. Kelly is my favorite child character in the franchise. I may also think John Williams’ score is better in this one, but it’s entirely subjective. Of course, I still consider the first one a masterpiece, but there are so many things I see in this film that I consider to be slightly better.

I agree with you. Roland has to be one of my favorite characters in any media. Other than that I can't add much to what you said. I know people will think we're weirdos and we'll get downvoted but to me, this is the best dinosaur movie that exists and one of the best adventure movies ever made.
