Hi everyone! My bedroom has just been my bed plus some childhood furniture (like, little girl furniture lol) for as long as I can remember and I'm finally getting around to redoing + decorating it! I'm very excited but I'm starting to go a little crazy looking online for the perfect furniture pieces (and no matter what I search I tend to get the same items I've already seen). I've also checked out FB Marketplace a few times but haven't come across anything I'm in love with yet.
I really love both the color and look of both the green Sixpenny daybed that Cozy K has and also this pink corduroy chair I found on Wayfair (last picture); however, the Sixpenny chair is way too expensive for me and the Wayfair chair is a little smaller than I'd like (only about 25 inches wide for the seat). I'm avoiding neutral colors (whites, greys, and browns) because my room already has a lot of that and I want my space to be a little colorful/warm and cozy.
Anyways, I'd really appreciate it if anyone could help me find a reasonably-priced (ideally around $500 or less but for the right chair I’d pay up to $900 – I know some sites are doing a Labor Day sale right now which helps), oversized, comfy chair to go in my room. I don't want a loveseat but I want something roomy - I'm thinking maybe 30-40 inches wide for the seat space minimum. Any pointers on sites to check out or specific links would be extremely helpful. Thank you in advance!!
I'm looking for a great looking mid century lounge chair, that's ergonomic (and ideally available in leather, but other fabrics would work).
I've spent a lot of time working at the computer and really messed up my body over the years, so even slight neck strain adds up and can be really uncomfortable... in my dream chair, it's easy to look forward at a tv or laptop without having your neck leaning forward much if at all - especially as you lean back. The chair I'm looking for also has low armrests, or wide armrests that don't get in the way of using a laptop while seated, so that my arms can be comfortably by my sides w/ the machine on my lap (which i've found to be the most comfortable for me) and a leg rest that isn't flat (so your knees aren't locked out, and are bent a bit).
The closest to this dream chair that I've found so far is the http://www.ekornes.com/us/stressless-recliner chair models that have adjustable headrests (e.g. the http://www.ekornes.com/us/stressless-recliners/stressless-magic/magic-signature); as you lean back, these chairs keep you looking forward, and they have low armrests. I just don't love the of the style of the models that have adjustable headrests...
any thoughts on chair that looks great, that would also be ergonomic? Or ideas on how to make a classic chair more ergonomic (pillows don't seem to work all that well) Thanks in advance! I'm running out of ideas and would really appreciate your insights...
Some background details: I've always loved the Eames Lounge chair, but when I tried it, i didn't like the angle, i was leaning a bit too far back - it was hard to look forward w/ out neck strain, and it doesn't adjust so it's take it love it or hate it on that front...
I find that a lot of great looking chairs don't support my neck well, so that even when you are sitting, you have to lean your neck forward slightly to look forward (often b/c they have backs that are at an angle, and or no neck support) and as you lean back it gets worse - as you go back you are looking up and really have to lean your neck forward to look forward, so I can't play a video game, watch tv, etc. when reclined - which is the primary use of the chair (not napping) I also find that a lot of chairs have armrests that get in the way of using a laptop, you can't sit in the chair without your arms, or at least elbows on the armrests, which makes it really uncomfortable for me to use a laptop for more than a few minutes. I need to have my arms more naturally at my side, and most chairs don't accommodate this Bonus points for an ottoman that isn't flat, i'd prefer one that accommodates a slight angle - so your knees aren't locked out. The chair has to lean back (so something like the eames lounger, or a fixed position chair doesn't work for my needs); it can have a built in leg rest that stows away, or a separate ottoman
