I had a LoveSac Sactional for about a year. If you get it, I’d highly recommend getting the deep seats and standard fill. Most complaints about the sofa are related to those two issues. If you get both options above, it’s a pretty solid couch. Obviously, I can’t speak to the longevity but I mostly liked it. The only problem I had (buy it’s kind of a big and common complaint) was that the back is extremely stiff. There is not curvature on the back portion of the couch so you’re forced into a very upright position. It’s fine for a while but can be uncomfortable after and hour or two. I don’t think there is much lumbar support. I’d say my biggest complaint was back pain on the couch. As for your question about elderly people and the couch, I’d guess that they couldn’t love it. Not entirely sure though since we never had older people over when we had it. As I mentioned, there’s very limited options for seating positions. I usually sat upright with my knees up or to the side Answer from lovestostayathome on reddit.com

Lovesac review no one asked for
Come back in fifteen years, and tells us how comfy your lovesac sactional still is and how you’re onto your third Ashley. You’ll eventually buy new cover sets when they are 50 percent off, or find floor model covers for 70 percent. And you’ll get used to taking it apart and cleaning it every once in a while, and it won’t be such a “pain in the butt” because you’ve gotten used to it and there’s a lot of things out there in the world that are harder to put together. Shoes, clamps, and covers will go on like a breeze because everything isn’t brand new anymore. That’s when sactional’s really pay off. 20 years from now you’ll still have it and it will still be just as great. Designed. For. Life. More on reddit.com

The recliner is cool but...
It really is for someone that doesn’t have room for an ottoman. It’s more space efficient but it sure is expensive. More on reddit.com

Lovesac Sactional and Recliner Review 2025
April 10, 2025 - After spending an inordinate amount of time looking at options on the Lovesac website, I ultimately opted for one reclining seat, three additional seats, and five sides with straight-shaped arms. There was some discussion about adding a sixth arm to create a U-shape sectional, but I wanted one of the seats to be an ottoman that could be moved around to create additional seating.

November 6, 2022 -

I just bought a new couch and loveseat combo from FlexSteel (coda model). It is a recliner couch with headrest, lumbar, and leather. It was 5K for both, not terrible high for semi decent furniture. There are a few things I don't care for however. Here's an image of one of the couches in the room. https://imgur.com/a/4wZVD77

  1. You are kind of locked into a certain seating position when you recline. Basically facing forward toward the TV. Not flexible on seating styles, although endless recline angles. It also needs to be 8" from the wall to recline fully. That doesn't sound like a lot but it is.

  2. I don't find it super comfortable for sitting in the upright position.

  3. I hate waiting for the motors to bring the seat upright. I'm impatient for sure.

  4. My feet don't really touch the ground sitting with it upright, Im 5'11. Wasn't expecting that.

  5. The leather is a bit hot on the back after an hour or so. But it'll be easy to keep clean with dogs and nephews.

  6. The adjustable lumbar support and comfort are pretty nice though.

  7. I can't lay down super comfortably across the cushions as the seats are slightly contoured.

  8. It feels high quality, I don't suspect anything will breakdown for 5+ years.

  9. The look is a bit blah, definitely not super stylish or anything. Leather recliner look. I'm 39yo male.

Was contemplating returning them and giving the Sactional a try. The back piece has a manufacturing defect, so it'll be easy to return. The Lovesac will definately be the long configuration, with a couple ottomans. My main concerns are below:

  1. Will I be able to sit and eat dinner comfortably in the sactional? I'm not much for a dining room table eater, so most of my meals are sitting on the couch.

  2. Will there be enough lumbar support for longterm sitting? In the store, if I pulled the base of the pillow out before leaning back, it seemed ok, but that was only for a few minutes.

  3. Do older people like them? Say my parents come over for a movie night, can they find a comfortable position with their bad backs and knees?

  4. Basically just looking for advice on back support and comfortable positions if you don't always want to lay flat on the chaise.

Appreciate the help, I've been looking for a couch for years, but can never seem to find the perfect one. This will be in a open concept living room, mainly used for TV/Movies after work. This will be my only couch area in the house.

We’ve had a Sactional for about a year now and we love it. I have an odd corner space and it fits perfect in it. Awesome for lounging and watching movies. I do agree with the other poster regarding deep seating. We have a mixture in our setup and I prefer the deep seat with a small pillow at my lower back. Very comfortable to lay on, great for napping. With that said, we have two recliners also. It is needed. While we love pilling into the Sactional for movie night, sometimes I want to sit in a good chair. When older people visits they always choose the recliners.
