Hi everyone - since Loveseat closed my partner and I used to visit that auction to get some good deals for furniture (often CB2 or similar ones in boxes) those in the know are there any other auctions like Loveseat that you resort to now for overstock/returned items from CB2/West Elm etc.
Yes, I know about estate sales, and the San Marcos outlet but Loveseat was something unique :) thanks!
I've looked through a lot of posts on this subreddit and elsewhere trying to figure out who makes sofas/loveseats that won't fall apart in two years that also meet some specifications I have for said loveseat. I'm not too picky about the color or fabric as I can always get a protective cover for a couch and cushions. (I do like spice, orange, green, rosewood, and similar though). Most of the options I've looked at are either too large, too soft, or a waste of money in terms of low quality. Open to any recommendations at this point!
Specs: This loveseat will be in my bedroom, which already has a desk, bed, & TV on console (I have roommates w/ no space for a real living room). There is room for any couch/sofa under 70", but closer to 60" is ideal. The feel must be *FIRM*; I have a condition known as Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (hEDS), which means my joints struggle to stay in place properly. Soft & plush furniture is painful for me, as I need joint stabilization. This is also why trying to use the TV while in bed is Not working for me. It's hard for me to know if I'd like a sofa, as most reviews find the sofas I like extremely uncomfortable. Not too picky about the style, but I do want it to have arms and a back. I don't mind used if it's not going to give me bedbugs and will last, but facebook marketplace is basically unusable right now. Bonus points if it's got a decent reputation for supporting heavier people, as there's enough weight between me & my friends to want to consider that with long term use. Additional points if I'd be able to test the feel in person (Upper Northeast United States)
What I've looked at so far:
Habitat For Humanity Restore (irl), local vintage/antique/used furniture sellers (irl), AptDeco, Kaiyo, LoveSac, Room & Board, Crate & Barrel, IKEA, Joybird, AllModern, Allform, West Elm, Pottery Barn, Flexsteel, etc. A few of these places have options that could possibly work, but the reviews make it hard to gauge if it'd be right for me. Any tips for where to look or what model may be a good fit for me would be super appreciated!
