Other "plant and forget it" plants include fragrant mimosa, gregs acacia, brasil, bee bush, smoke tree, zexmenia, mexican buckeye, most agaves, most yucca, prickly pear, horse cripplers, lace cactus, sotol, agarita, and im sure there are a few more i forgot. Knautia (Macedonia) is a very low maintenance, non invasive perennial, comes up every year, perfectly suited to the UK weather. Bee friendly flowers in early summer, sometimes followed by a second flush in late autumn. One small piece of tidying up, cut everything to the ground in early winter. More on reddit.com

Do you have any allergies? The reason I ask is one of the ones I suggest being sage is known to be easy but some are deathly allergic to it. For easy though maintenance shrubs I would go sage, seaberry, lavender, spirea and lilac. Lavender you just really have to look depending on your zone because according to the old zone map I am zone 5 and some are zone 6 and up. For seaberry you may have to define big and lilac you are looking at different sizes for cultivar. More on reddit.com

Edited for clarity... Just got my driveway extendend and with it, an empty flower bed that I want to fill in. I don't know anyting about gardening or landscaping. I'm looking for recommendations for low maintenance plants that provide some curb appeal. Ideally, plant once, dormant in winter, bloom in Spring/Summer/Fall. I'm liking the Boxwood + maybe (purple) flowers combo, but open to anything. Looking to top with black mulch (I like the clean look of it, I guess). Full Sun Zone 5-6 area receives snow in winter, so assume it will come into contact with salt 6x6 area with tree to have low plants (for visibility) what perennials work well with a Shademaster Locust (I think) tree? 13x4 area to have low shrub/hedge (the grass/area to the left is neighbour's lawn) shrub/hedge to be planted on left side, next to property line what shrub/hedge is low-maintenance, winter-hardy, max 3-4ft in height? on remaining space to the right, 1.5-2 ft left of curb, I'm thinking perennials (purple in color?) is it better to plant the shrubs AND perennial bulbs now (fall), plant ONLY shrubs now (fall) and bulbs in spring, or plant BOTH shrubs & bulbs in spring? I assume the area 1.5-2 ft left of curb will be clear during winter, so will dump snow there More on reddit.com
