My friends have a garden bed next to the front of the house that gets a lot of sun and which they don't have time to maintain. It usually gets overrun with "weeds", many (not all) invasive. I think it'd be a great opportunity to clear it out and plant some natives. With their permission of course. They're about to have a baby, so plants need to be non-toxic.
Are there any super hardy plants you'd recommend for the area? It's full sun, gets scorched during the summer and rarely watered. Clay soil.
We are having some raised beds built to finally add some plants and colour to our garden. As we’re both complete novices at gardening we would love some suggestions of what to plant that is low-maintenance.
The raised beds are built against the garden brick wall and that area gets the sun almost all day (when it stops raining!). We would also love to encourage wildlife with the plants.
We love lavender, tulips and alliums so hoping to add them to the mix.
I’m not the best with gardening and I assume it’s too late to start from a seed or bulb?
