Help with the sad looking walkway to my house!
If it were me I would remove that tree and bush, since it's such a narrow space they make it feel way too crowded. There are lots of shade loving plants so you have a lot of options here. I think trellises along one wall would look amazing, like a living wall vibe. Here's a list of shady vines , you would just want to make sure they stay on a trellis and don't damage your wall. And then on the opposite side you could plant whatever (shade loving plants) that you wanted, such as a smaller type of hosta, or anything that doesn't get too big so it doesn't block your walkway. Clover. Spreads well, feels amazing when walked on, and encourages pollinators like bees to be near your garden. And to top it all off, It's technically a legume and improves the quality of the soil over time. It works with bacteria to add nitrogen to the soil and make it available to nearby plants More on reddit.com

Tips for new homeowner looking to jazz up walkway to front door? Very minimal gardening skills (new to this), but wanting to learn. Thanks!
If you are thinking of planting along the walkway, I would start paying attention to the amount of sunlight it gets throughout the day as this will significantly impact which plants you can grow and how good they look. An unhealthy plant looks worse than no plant at all More on reddit.com

r/gardening on Reddit: Help with the sad looking walkway to my house!
December 19, 2022 -

I am so so so tired of looking at this depressing walkway in front of my house. It has so much potential but I genuinely do not know where to start. For one, the area doesn't get a ton pf sunlight due to the garages on either side. Im not totally sure what would be ideal to grow in these circumstances?? Also, I cannot stand the ugly pipes and electrical boxes against the house😞

If anyone has any suggestions please feel free to comment! For context, I live in Lancaster Pennsylvania and I am completely inexperienced when it comes to gardening.
