11 Bathroom Design Ideas You Should Try | Lowe’s
December 15, 2023 - This bathroom's open appearance lends a modern edge to the space. The wall-mounted vanity makes the room appear airy while the clear glass shower doors add to this feel. 4 Budget-Friendly Small Bathroom Ideas to Refresh Your Space
Choose a ceiling color that complements the tones in the tile or cabinets to tie the room together like the Woodland stone color used in this episode of The Weekender. Don’t be afraid to choose a bold hue as a ceiling paint color, but use a flat or matte finish for ceiling paint to hide any imperfections. Adding bathroom tile can be a gorgeous but expensive detail in a remodeled bathroom.

Lowes Install Services- anyone use them for a new bathroom? - Bogleheads.org
Thanks everyone for the variety of comments so far regarding this project. My sense is that using Lowe's for one task installs (doors, windows, countertops, etc) is a bit less risky from a quality standpoint than a multi-faceted job like a bathroom remodel. We did use Lowe's to replace our interior doors last year, and were very happy with them, and the pricing was 25% less than HD (and local contractors) for the same doors.

r/HomeImprovement on Reddit: Anyone ever use Lowe's or Home Depot to do a bathroom or kitchen renovation in your home? How'd it go?
October 16, 2016 -

Just curious if their pricing, quality of work, etc, was on par with independent contractors. I'm trying not to get burnt by a contractor and am imagining that going with one of those stores would limit my risk.

We did. Work wasn't too bad, but pay attention. They didn't secure the subfloor correctly, so the first time we walked on teh new tile floor we could see it moving. We told them where to get the tile (we had purchased it) and they pulled it all up and laid an additional layer of plywood down. I also had to stop them from just tiling over an open junction box they found (the vanity had flipped from one wall to the other and the the previous owner (had to be him based on finished), an electrical contractor who owned his own company, had left live wires behind a fiberglass shower wall. We called in an electrician to fix it correctly. Basically, you'll get less experienced contractors, but HD/Lowes is weilding a big stick on your behalf (enough customer complaints and their business dries up). We think our contractors mostly did apartment maintenance; the floors & electrical were a bit alarming, but we caught it and were pretty happy with the results. If you aren't as aware of whats right, it might be better to stick with a more experienced contractor; though I've seen crappy work from them too. EDIT: I should note, we split the work, because I didn't want them messing with my Plaster (1876 house); they wanted to cover it all with 1/4 drywall, I didn't want to give up a 1/2" of space (2 wall) and have learned to love the solidity of old plaster

Worst. Experience. Ever. My parents used Lowe's re-do the shower in the main bathroom. The tiles were uneven, the mosaic border was inset a good 3/8", and they didn't cover the shower valve which then got clogged with thinset and grout. They also washed off the tools in my parents' sink as evidenced by specks of grout all over the vanity top and doors. They also did not install the waterproofing which was specifically outlined, and paid for, in the contract. The store manager tried siding with the contractor saying it wasn't going to be an issue that the waterproofing was missing, and then couldn't come up with an answer when we showed directions on the Lowe's website DIY section stressing the importance of waterproofing before tiling. He offered to just refund the waterproofing. It took threatening news coverage and bringing in a lawyer before the Lowe's manager agreed to pay for it to all be re-done. My brother ended up finding out what company did the bathroom work, and they primarily do insurance and disaster restoration work. Spend the extra money and go directly to a contractor who has rave reviews and can provide proof of their work with references.
