Looking for something to cover some vinyl that’s in rough shape as a semi temporary solution before work can be done to replace the floor. Not looking to spend a ton but need it to last over the holidays.
The achim brand from Lowe’s has terrible reviews but is the lowest cost option, anyone have any other suggestions for aesthetic purposes only?

Don't. Buy sheet flooring and stick it down with carpet tape if you have to. Mine looked like shit a month later. Corners popped loose, tripping and breaking off or pulling the tile loose. Gunk collected in the seams and looked nasty. I would live on luan or particle board before I used self stick tiles again.

UPDATE 2 Flash on this one makes all the white glow but it shows the floor pretty well. 2 3 4 I'm happy with the results. Still need to put down the new threshold on my back door. I used vinyl adhesive on the tiles by the door because I know the threshold is going to try to pop those up... More on forums.anandtech.com

They're fine in my opinion if you're just trying to make something look nice on a budget. I did this for my parents after ripping out old linoleum in their kitchen. They couldn't afford the $6,500.00 floors they wanted until last year. They were pleased and most folks have no idea. More on reddit.com

November 6, 2023 - I got peel and stick floor tiles to cover up the hideous linoleum in my kitchen that my landlord refuses to replace. It looked great for less than a month. Then the corners and edges started sticking up. I think the humidity got to it (New England).

Me and my wife just finished putting the marble down in our 2 bathroom and also putting hardwood (solid 3/4inch) in our master bedroom, bedroom1, and living room. December 2, 2008 - Hello, In the last 6 weeks my life has been miserable trying to do installation of Crntel Vynil Tiles I picked up from Lowes. These are Peel and Stick tiles which I planned to install in my basement which is finished and has wooden subflooring on it. The subfloor is porous (unfinished Plywood).

This is my first home and not super handy. My bathroom is “80’s decor” and I wanted to freshen it up with a coat of paint and peel and stick tiles. Our plan is to remodel the bathroom and kitchen completely but in 3-5yrs.
What’s you experience with peel and stick and is there anything I need to be aware of?

Peel n stick needs a very clean surface to adhere properly so have a bottle of isopropyl alcohol on hand to clean the area you will be sticking the tiles. Alcohol doesn't leave any residue and dries quickly. Soaps and some cleaners do leave a residue that can be a negative for self-stick stuff.
