It includes a bunch of notes, completely new and more specific requirements for each tier, and a lot more ATX 3.0 and 3.1 PSUs. Thanks to Zach and the contributors who helped us gamers and builders out! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1akCHL7Vhzk_EhrpIGkz8zTEvYfLDcaSpZRB6Xt6JWkc/edit?usp=drivesdk
There is finally a new PSU tier list, updated 2 days ago. Old list was a year old. It lists a few ATX 3.0 PSU's first. I hope this post is OK w/ the rules.
New PSU Tier List
I am building a NAS, and I am deciding which PSU to buy. Someone recommended me to check out Linus PSU tier list. I googled it up, and this came up first in the results:
https://cultists.network/140/psu-tier-list/
It has higher (more recent) revision number (16) then the list on Linus's website:
https://linustechtips.com/topic/1116640-psu-tier-list-rev-148/
Are those guys related to Linus and/or are legit and trustworthy, or is it a grab for affiliate money?
Also, which PSU is least likely to fry my HDDs with precious data? ๐ณ
Thanks
Hey, I'll just quickly jump in here
We moved to our own site in Cultists back in August of last year, we had hit a number of limitations with both LTT and Tomshardware, but decided not to remove the post completely. However, since there's no benefit to maintaining the project elsewhere, we no longer update the LTT and tomshardware lists, which is why they're still on rev. 14.8
Currently, the only version maintained by us is the one on cultists, but the list can be used as long as our Creative Commons license is met
ps. I only now realized u/uz-spark said something about it as well... he's the other person maintaining it with me on Cultists
Neither the tier list at LTT forum not Cultists.Network are related to Linus, LTT or LMG. This tier list was originally a community project by members of said forum and was simply hosted there, and then it was moved to the dedicated site by the people behind it and the forum thread was abandoned. You can see that a forum member who published the list at LTT forum - Luke Savenije is one of the authors of the tier list article at Cultists.Network. So the tier list at LTT forum is essentially just an older version of the tier list at Cultists.Network.
