Lumitec seablaze x2 vs other underwater lights. Any good less expensive but still as bright alternatives? Anybody have the lumitec and can comment if two of them are worth it?
They are incredibly expensive but you get what you pay for. They are top notch lights. You can also buy the POCO lighting controller and control the lights from your phone which is a cool but expensive feature. Lots of higher end boats have these.
I’ve never seen any other lights installed on boats so I can’t really comment on anything else. Everyone I know with the Lumitecs are very satisfied. Just depends on your budget.

I've been eyeing them for a while. I'm looking at the Lumitec Seablaze 3 lights. I have heard they do not have a separate ballast that the OceanLED lights have. The OceanLED allegedly have a high failure rate. The boat place near me used to put them in, but after having too many failures, they switched to the Lumitec's and have had much more success. Keep me posted if you do move forward. I may throw the Lumitec's in this winter. If so, I'll post a step-by-step and review on here. More on reddit.com

Connect the wires from the light to the new wire run and follow ABYC standards. Ensure that the wires are crimped correctly, and use a heat gun on the heat shrink of the butt splice connectors. Verify the switch is a Single Pole Single Throw (SPST) switch; it has the appropriate Amp rating and is connected to house power through a properly sized fuse. Recommended switch size for a 3-wire installation is 1A (minimum) switch. Turn on house power and test the new underwater light.

I went with Lumitec Seablaze X (blue/white), Bought them on amazon and my boat was pre-wired with switch in place already. They work really well so far and are pretty dang bright although a lot of lakes around me are chocolate milk with all the rain we've had this year..
