Actually my favorite place to see a movie is at MOMA. Plain old big 1970s style theaters, regular, not reclining, seats, and very strict rules about noise, food, drink, phones etc. Fellow audience members can be very aggressive with miscreants. Though seats not reserved, which is fine with me, as I hate that policy (no way to tell how tall/fat person ahead of you might be). Personally, I think the whole luxury cinema thing is very suburban.

I absolutely love coming here. The Jaffe Theater (theater 1) is beautiful. I particularly love the ceiling as it displays craftsmanship that you don’t see in modern movie theaters.

This is coming from someone who lives in the Bronx and usually goes to Concourse Cinema for budget, and Magic Johnson easily the 2 worst in NYC. The amount of people on their phones, doing commentary and being able to hear all that says a lot about sound quality. My SO and I could talk low to each other and still not be heard.
