I'm sure you all have had to write your share of thermo labs, so here is one thing that will make it at least a little easier.
If you are using Word you can quickly put a dot on top of any letter, without having to use the equation editor. If you go Q0307 and then hit alt-x it will turn into this Q̇ you can do Ṫhis with any letter.
edit: One caveat is that it will only work for capital letters

High as an apostrophe ( ‘ ) but a dot?
When I was a kid (think early 90s), I learned this symbol when writing lists by hand or similar. It means something like "fill in with what's above". For example, a recipe could say:

2 carrots, shredded
-
2 parsnips, - | | -
No one I know is familiar with this handy symbol. Google doesn't turn up anything either. Did my Swedish teacher in primary school make it up? Or does this actually have a name, a field of use, or a profession associated with it, or something?
