M4 air comes with a 30w usb c adapter and magsafe cable, so my question is does the usb c to magsafe cable support a 96w brick?

The base comes with 30w, but the 10/10 core units come with a dual USB-C 35w with an option for 70w. So the Magsafe will do at least 70w. Typically you can use higher wattage and the system will just pull the most it can, so if it tops out at 70w and you use a 96w, it might only draw 70w.

it appears the MacBook Air only charges at 70 watt maximum from what I can see. So that is the maximum wattage that will be drawn by the computer. You could have a million watt charger and the MacBook is only going to use 70 watts maximum.

I selected the 70w adapter but also have a 96w adapter from a MacBook Pro that died and a few dual cord 35w "fast chargers". Now I'm confused over what to use. I mostly leave the MacBook Air plugged into the wall and only occasionally need a fast charge.

M4 Air has a max charging wattage of 70W, so the 96W and 70W will charge around the same. 35W will be slower but if you’re gonna leave it plugged longer it’ll probably be better for ur battery life (o think)

The maximum wattage the MacBook Air can pull from a charger is 70W. So a 96W charger is still charging a MacBook Air at 70W. And it’s only going to pull 70W between 0-50%. After 50% it pulls less, and less, until about 90% and then it pulls very little. So fast charging really only applies to the first half of a battery charge. If you don’t need to fast charge 0-50%, then use a 30W or 35W charger at your regular charging space.

so according to my use i have charged it with power bank from mi 10000 mah which guve 20 waat output but what happens is the charge gets distributed to all the cells that you have in your mac so even if ut says a higher percentage of battery charged you wont get the power backup that you generally do it will last a little less
