Just came back from a local screening of the recap movie, part 2. I decided to skip part 1 because part 2 is obviously the better part :D. If for any reason you don't want to get spoiled, please stop reading here.

The second half adopts EPs 9 through 13, which would theoretically have a total of 120min and change. So some cuts had to be made:
EP9 -- Almost entirely gone. Maybe only 5 mins or so remain, just them fighting off the red snake thingy without issue. This is where the majority of savings came from.
EP10 -- Entirely intact.
EP11 -- Mostly or entirely intact. I can't recall if Rico's nightmare sequence is in 11 or 12, but that's gone.
EP12 -- The birthday curse section back on the surface is gone, but otherwise intact.
EP13 -- Entirely intact.
In all, no complaints. EP9 was mostly filler to begin with, but in the end this did result in layer 3 being cut really short, which is a pity. There is a very short extra bit at the very end, after Bondrewd proclaims his desire to meet or protagonists again, which introduces a certain little girl. It's probably 20 or so seconds long, and doesn't do much except a character reveal.
The visuals aren't really so great. While the lines are clean, not a lot of extra detail is added, which means some places where the animator slacked off a bit back in the TV version can be seen very clearly. The slight inconsistencies of the characters between episodes are also more pronounced now that there is no pause between episodes. And finally, it's still in a 16:9 ratio, thus losing some of the cinematic qualities expected from a movie.
The audio, on the other hand, is a treat. I spent the ticket money expecting the best rendition of the OST I'll ever hear, and the movie certainly delivered. Pathway and Tomorrow were both absolutely exceptional. I could recall two pieces that where never in the OST: A bit that played over the intro at the very beginning of the movie, which is in-line with the style of the rest of the OST; and the actual "ED" over the end credits, which had been moved to the end of the movie, leaving the Tomorrow sequence without credits. The name of the ED song is "ReBirth", and I don't think I've been able to locate it anywhere yet. The song is somewhat similar to Hanazeve Caradhina in that the lyrics are in a language I don't understand (likely made up too), but in a different style. It's still very obviously Kevin Penkin's work though.
Not much else to say, as it's really not at all different from the TV anime, but it does set things up nicely for the third movie.
