So I uploaded an SVG file to the Canva mobile app. The file was an image of a logo. I want to put the image on a poster, but the issue is it has a white square background around the logo that I can’t get rid of. When I go to effect it won’t remove the background, and the magic eraser tool isn’t even there, any suggestions? And yes, I have the pro version.

Did you save your SVG file with transparent background?? That may be the issue afoot 🧐!

I am creating this t-shirt graphic for sublimation and I want to clean up the overlapping mushroom cluster. When I select the specific graphic I want to edit, Magic Studio won’t let me use the eraser. I did some googling and this seems to be the method to use to edit the image. Changing the position of the individual mushroom clusters doesn’t help due to the style of the graphics. Any suggestions on how to clean this up or access the eraser tool?

You'll want to cover the spaces with white lines, circles, shapes. I used hot pink in an example to place and see where i want blocked out, and then i change all shapes and lines to white. This is a sloppy example but look at the blades of grass :)

Magic eraser is an AI tool designed for removing elements from a photo - it's not a general purpose eraser tool. Unfortunately such a general purpose eraser or masking tool does not exist in Canva. I would love to see one. If you feel strongly about it you should click the Feedback button on the lower left on the home page and make a suggestion. The more people who ask for it, the more likely it is to be implemented!

Hey! I need to use the magic eraser tool on a vector graphic. However it says "adding effects to a vector graphic disables changing individual colors" I don't care if I can't change the colors I just need to erase!! Does anyone know how I can do this?

I used the blur tool. Just click blur, move the bar forward and then back to zero. When you click out, the eraser tool will be available. Note that you should change the colors before doing this if you need to, because you won't be able to after.
