Oh, certainly not. As a long time Mac user, the best peripheral that Apple makes is the Magic Trackpad. That sucker is worth the premium price. There aren't really competitors. For Apple keyboards and mice, both, third party offer so much more value than Apple. One caveat: the touch scrolling on the Magic Mouse is very nice. For me, though, since I have both a trackpad and mouse, the Magic Trackpad would still be my go to for scrolling through any document. Third party mice scrollwheels won't be as good as the touch scrolling. That's for sure. Answer from danieljeyn on reddit.com

Apple Magic Mouse 2
The Apple Magic Mouse 2 looks and feels the same as its predecessor, and now comes with rechargeable batteries. Its minimalist design may not be comfortable for everyone, however, and the Lightning port isn't in the best location.

r/mac on Reddit: Apple Magic Mouse 2 - review
July 22, 2020 -

Hello everyone,

TL;DR - I did not like it , returned it!

I did a lot of research on a new mouse for my new MacBook Pro , inspite of mixed reviews , went ahead and ordered a Apple Magic Mouse 2 - it is beautiful to look at and when sitting on the table it’ll make the the entire table pretty and neat. However for people who want to get things done and are used to a traditional mouse it’s a nightmare! , yes it’s Apple , works like magic and all that , but at least mine wasn’t up to the mark ; Ex-1: I was trying my luck at graphic design (affinity Designer) , the canvas wouldn’t stop at one place kept moving around because of the touch surface , really irritating, I know we can turn that off - then what’s the point of a 80$ mouse by Apple !! Ex-2 : I was a windows user for 20 years now , switched to Mac a month ago. The natural scrolling was a nightmare, if I turn that off , the ‘two finger swipe’ gesture is also reversed, which doesn’t make sense.

I have bought Apple products before, right from iPad to iPhones , never thought I’d return an Apple product, but this was so frustrating and frankly did not think it worked for me. I’m sure there are people who are of the same opinion as me or looking to buy a mouse for their Macs , I think if we are already used to a traditional mouse , apples Magic Mouse won’t be good fit.

Will have to order Logitech Mx master or something now.

Thank you for reading!

Magic Mouse 2 review: Not much has changed since 2009
October 26, 2015 - More importantly, Apple has used a different material for the runners, and says the “optimised foot design” results in “a smooth, superior glide with less resistance”; and while it’s hard to accurately compare the smoothness of our six-year-old Magic Mice – whose rails are almost uniformly gummed up with years of desk grime – with this brand-new review sample, the new material does seem significantly better at gliding around on the desk. This is also helped by the new mouse being a little lighter: 99g, compared to 109g for the Magic Mouse 1 (including batteries, of course).

Customer Reviews: Apple Magic Mouse 2 Silver MLA02LL/A - Best Buy
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. I loved the first version of the Magic Mouse (the non rechargeable version) and love this rechargeable one even more. Unlike a traditional mouse with a scroll wheel or ball, the top three-fourths of the Magic Mouse 2 is almost like a trackpad for you to scroll horizontally, diagonally and vertically.

Apple Magic Mouse (2022): undeniably stylish, unforgivably designed
The latest iteration of the Apple Magic Mouse that I'm reviewing came out in March 2022, but is basically the same as the Magic Mouse 2 that got released in 2015. We look at the beautiful yet frustrating Apple Magic Mouse, a true unique among the competition.

Apple Magic Mouse 2 review: Mouse unable to conjure up any innovation
With a lack of input innovations, what does the future hold for the mouse on a Mac? Apple’s new Magic Mouse 2 isn’t really that much different from the original Magic Mouse. It has major changes that affect how the mouse moves and a new built-in battery. But there’s nothing about the Magic Mouse 2 that will make you ditch your current mouse—even if it’s an original Magic Mouse. What’s new isn’t obviousThe exterior design of the Magic Mouse 2 is almost the same as the Magic Mouse. It’s still has a white plastic sliver that rests atop an aluminum case, with no visible buttons or scroll wheel.Fl

October 18, 2015 - I realise it's only 2 minutes for a 9 hoour charge. But that two minutes a day could do damage to the cable if it's bent while charging. I will have to work out a way to charge the mouse and not damage the cable in the process. Paring the Magic Mouse 2 with my iMac was a simple as connecting it wired to the iMac and instantly it said "ready to use wirelessly".
