I received my new Magic Mouse USB-C model, running 3.1.4. The issue is that it does not scroll up or down when swiping on the surface. I tried it on 2 macbooks. The mouse does not scroll. I can click and point, but not scroll. More on discussions.apple.com
User opinions needed: MX Master 3 vs Magic Mouse 2
I used both Mx Master 3 for mac version and the Magic Mouse. I think overall the Master 3 is better for me. Ergonomic and Gesture. Pretty much all gesture from the Magic Mouse can be done on the Mx and even better when the MX can configure some special function on particular app. For ex: Button to mute mic in Teams,zoom etc… horizontal scroll for safari to switch between tabs, and adjust brush size for Pts.
But as you already know there are lots of problem for newer m1 mac, and its the pain in the ass. For me recently I cannot get the special gesture on the Mx to work , their software on M1 is not native so ram and battery issue will come up.
Overall the Mx is better if it can work 100% but Magic mouse is a safer choice if you already used and have no issue with it
