Are magnetic switches simply better? Or is it mostly for fps games while mechanical switches type/feel/sound better? I cant seem to find an answer.

They last longer and adjustable actuation are both big reasons to go magnetic, but the tradeoff is no real options for tactile/clicky

HE switches are objectively better for gaming the typing feel is slightly worse imo but improving rapidly and you do get less options a lot of people love geon raws tho

Idk what the other comment is talking about, hall effect keybs do make a difference in val, and they're not more expensive than mechanical keybs in 2024. I found the aula win65 he and the ajazz Hall effect keyboard on Amazon for the same price as a normal keyb. Also the fun60 lineup is nice. If you have the funds then why not More on reddit.com

September 22, 2025 - That's true, a keyboard doesn't need to be magnetic to have snap tap. However, it is made way better with magnetic keyboards, because you don't have to care about the actuation point of the keys. So it will be way more forgiving than a mechanical switch when strafing back and forth with snap tap
