Are magnetic switches simply better? Or is it mostly for fps games while mechanical switches type/feel/sound better? I cant seem to find an answer.

They last longer and adjustable actuation are both big reasons to go magnetic, but the tradeoff is no real options for tactile/clicky

April 29, 2025 - Magnetic keyboards offer deep functional customization via software, particularly for performance tuning, while still allowing aesthetic keycap changes. Ultimately, neither keyboard type is universally "better." The best choice depends entirely on your individual needs and priorities. I know most pro's just use the equipment from their sponsors so that's an unreliable source for information.
That being said is there a tier list or even a list that some one has developed for competitive gamers? I don't mind the price, I just want to make sure I don't scam myself with a high cost low tier keyboard.
Thank you for the help in advanced!
Edit: I prefer full size over 60%

U might need wooting he80, it's just came out btw. For killer combo I could also replace case with something more premium, keycaps of Ur choice and switches(wooting switches are definitely not bad but there could be 3rd party options that are much nicer in terms of overall quality but they won't be cheap for sure). Opticals even high end are not worth it imo cuz they're just not as great as magnetic and those that actually work well (like razer ones) are not even cheaper than wooting and hard to customise so getting them feels a lose lose situation.

November 17, 2024 - SteelSeries Apex Pro: was $199 now $174 @ Amazon The Apex Pro is one of my personal favorite Hall Effect keyboards, mostly for the great looks, comfortable keycaps, and great onboard features — it even includes a nifty OLED display, allowing you to fine-tune the switches as you game. It is well deserving of 4.5/5 stars in our SteelSeries Apex Pro review. ... Since these distances are simply not possible on regular mechanical switches, you'll need to move to magnetic switches to take full advantage of it. It is one of those rare features that feels massive — the change in sensitivity is like night and day.
