August 9, 2021 - How to determine the maximum battery capacity on MacBook Pro Hello, I have a MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports) running macOS Monterey (12.6). How can I check the maximum battery capacity on the MacBook Pro? I can easily check on the iPhone but I can't seem to find it on the Mac. Thank you 516 6 ... How much does the MagSafe battery pack weigh?
Wesley Hilliard: Apple's MagSafe Battery Pack has more capacity than it seems - here's why. The MagSafe Battery Pack appears to have a tiny capacity when examining its milliamp-hour rating, but that isn't the whole story. Here are the battery ratings and what they mean to users.
TLDR All phone manufacturers use Ah as unit of energy because all Li-Ion batteries have 3.7 V on average (which is still misleading anyway). While the true unit for energy would be Wh (V*Ah). In this case, where the voltage of the battery pack (7.6 V) is much higher then the usual 3.7 V, speaking of Ah is pretty useless. More on reddit.com

MagSafe battery pack vs power bank
I have both an Apple magsafe battery pack and an ESR 10,000 mah magsafe battery pack. The Apple magsafe battery pack gets slapped on at full charge and extends my 14 pro max’s battery life by a good amount (few hours). It’s also super nice for gaming without having to be tied to an outlet. I only use the Apple battery for gaming as it keeps my phone from getting hot. Note: the battery does go down when gaming (doesn’t get up charged) as it’s meant to extend and protect your battery, not charge it to 100% When I’m charging all my devices at the end of the day, I typically only charge the Apple MagSafe battery with my AirPods on it as the Apple MagSafe battery does it’s job at keeping my phone at 90% so there’s no need to charge my phone. The ESR battery pack is nice to have because of the capacity and kickstand. I typically use this at home when I’m cooking or eating for the stand, or when I’m watching videos in bed for extended periods. It is noticeably bulkier than the Apple MagSafe battery. Another plus is that you can charge other devices via a usb-c port. The Apple battery is slim, protects your phone by optimizing charging, and is convenient to just slap on and use. The ESR battery is nice for the extra juice and kickstand. Both are worth it. More on reddit.com

Apple MagSafe Battery Pack
The MagSafe Battery Pack’s 1,460mAh capacity might seem low at first glance; it’s little more than half the capacity of the iPhone 12 mini’s 2,227mAh battery, and far less than the 5,000mAh external batteries you can find for a quarter of the price. The snappy way to recharge your iPhone 12

And the 10,000 mAh of the PowerCore provides far more power than 1,460 mAh of the MagSafe Battery, not only because of the difference in power capacity but also because transferring power over a cord is far more efficient than wireless charging, which can waste up to 30% of the power due to heat.

Apple MagSafe Battery Pack review: convenience over capacity | The Verge
I also wish it could have more capacity without getting any larger than it already is. I don’t begrudge physics and I get why Apple chose the size it did. But paying $99 for all the MagSafe Battery’s elegance and integration doesn’t make sense when there are much cheaper options that are less beholden to working with just one phone. A battery pack is going to look silly no matter what, you might as well get one that’s as versatile as possible.
