How's the Commercial License program going for you?
For designers using the Commercial License program, I’m curious how it’s been going so far. I’m considering trying it, but would love some feedback: Have many people become members for your models? How does the income compare to what you make from downloads/boosts? More on forum.bambulab.com

How's the Commercial License program going for you? - MakerWorld - Bambu Lab Community Forum
March 3, 2025 - When I saw the fees were higher on MakerWorld, it didn’t stop me from signing up. I just made the cost higher to cover those fees. If someone wants the lower cost, they can join on Patreon instead. ... I’m currently debating dipping my toe into commercial licensing for some of my models but I can’t decide whether to do it on MW or some combination of other sites (Patreon, Thangs, Cults3D).

A couple of my models have been getting some traction lately, so much so that I was contacted with the question of whether someone could print and sell them. It's quite surreal, to be honest, but why not? I dove into the topic and found out that MakerWorld is offering a "Commercial License Membership." Sadly, I don't have enough followers (102/200) to actually start this, but I was also wondering how this membership works with the exclusive MakerWorld models. Can they still be exclusive and, at the same time, be printed and sold by someone?

Models can be both exclusive and part of the commercial license membership, the only thing that cannot be done is uploading the digital files of the exclusive models on other sites

How can so many people jump to the wildest conclusions about what this is? All this rage about models behind paywalls, mandatory subscriptions and whatnot. "COMMERCIAL License" is plastered all over the thumbnail, the article and the headline. This is not about someone hiding the articulated octopus model you like so much behind a paywall, for crying out loud. This is about people who sell 3d prints COMMERCIALLY obtaining a license from the person making the model. And that should cost you. You are making money off their work, so pay them. Today, those licenses are a clustercoitus (thanks, censorbot) on a case-by-case basis with Patreons, individual agreements and whatnot. We can discuss if this is a fair model for the creators or not and a dozen other topics. But please, read at least the headline before you whip yourself into a frenzy.
