Hello everyone,
My problem is as the title suggests. I can't find any 7 or 9" angle grinders that offer variable speed control. Tons available at 5 and 6", but once you hit 7 or above, there's none. Neither Makita, nor Walter, nor Metabo have any. But yet, ridgid and ryobi do? What gives?
I do a lot of different kinds of jobs with my 5" grinder, and much of my work requires slow RPM, like surface conditioning disks (~2000), and my segmented diamond cutting wheels (Max of 7200 rpm), but the 7 and 9" grinder run at fixed rates way above that, like 8500.
Does anyone know of any well-made grinders in the 7 and 9" categories that offer variable speed? I'd be eternally grateful.

Dewalt polisher DWP849X is 12amp and variable speed. Not as much power as a grinder, but it’s the closest you’re gonna get with variable speeds. IDK why the variable speed controllers drop out above 6”. I’m sure there’s a good reason, I just don’t know it.
