Pro, we make a lot more money installing it because when I hear you want natural stone, I charge a lot more. Your subfloor had better be over 16 on center joists and have two layers of alternating tongue and groove plywood with the second layer sheets nailed on 1/4-1/3ds of the span of the joists. This means the nails in the second layer should NOT be going into the same joists that the first layer is nailed to. The second layer nails should land around 4-6 inches away from the joists. Anyone who says you don’t need two layers of subfloor is wrong. Anyone who says they will be using uncoupling membrane so it’s okay to have one layer is wrong.
