Just got my Switch 2 and after completing setup I went ahead to the shop to download Mario Kart World but when I go ahead to download I get this error code. I tried looking it up online but I get nothing. Can anyone help? My date and time are correct too 😭

PEOPLE WHO BOUGHT IN A DIFFERENT REGION: According to Nintendo, download codes are region locked! I had to change my Nintendo account region to match the region I bought the code in and it worked fine. EDIT: you can switch your account right back to the original region and everything will work fine.

Guys I just came back from my Gamestop and my Bundle doesn’t include the code? Where can I report this issue? To Gamestop? Nintendo? Picked up the new Switch 2 plus Mario Kart Worlds bundle at a midnight release last night (June 4, 2025). Got home, set up the console, and was expecting the game to auto download when I opened the eShop, based on everything I'd read online about how the bundle works.

Instead, I noticed I had a different variant of the bundle. It has a sticker on the front of the box and is supposed to come with a scratch-off code card inside the box for Mario Kart Worlds.

The problem is, my box didn't have the code. I triple checked everything. Looked through the inserts, the manual sleeve, and under the cardboard tray where the HDMI cable and manual are stored. Nothing. No game code card anywhere.

From what I’ve seen online, the code is supposed to be tucked under the insert along with the manual, but in my case, only the manual was there. No card. Just completely missing.

I preordered and picked this up from a Best Buy store, but I'm honestly not sure what to do from here. I’m assuming this was some kind of packaging error, but has anyone else run into this? Were you able to get a replacement code? Should I go back to the store or contact Nintendo directly?

I got the Mario kart bundle that didn’t have the sticker but the Mario kart world was printed on the box. I thought I was as missing the code but when I went to the Nintendo Eshop and click on the game in the store it said “your console can download this game” so I just downloaded it. I hope this helps.

I'm in the UK and got a separate small paper leaflet with a picture of mario kart and a code along the bottom, this was located under the tablet top layer along with the instructions.

There should be a code in the box. If there isnt I would contact whoever you bought the system from.

The second time I entered the eShop it told me the game was going to be downloaded and asked if that was ok.

Mine (the banner at the bottom, not the circle) didn't come with any codes—it was just programmed to download the game automatically when I signed into the eShop for the first time. Did you try that?

You are very likely trying to redeem it with the wrong account. Which region is your account and which region is your console? You might have bought a Hong Kong MK bundle and trying to redeem the code with your main account, in that case (or similar cases) you would need to create an HK account (or whichever country your Switch 2 is) and redeem it with it.
