For me, the lawsuit lead to a soft reboot of the series that created two universes. One where they were always human, and one where they were Nintendo characters. Marvin junior, Joseph, Cody, etc don’t remember themselves being Nintendo characters, but have memories of videos when they were, like junior remembering mr winkle. There’s also the human potion, but it’s basically been retconned aside from a few fourth wall jokes. But in short, the lawsuit split the timeline, so all the old events happened in sml, but they were retconned to always having their human/had their deign names and changes in those videos

Like I love that Marvin is just SO Into boobs and so in love with Rose (although that’s already been established) and the fact that he watches people sleep which is creepy but I love when we get to know more about who the characters are!

The puppet being sold on the official SML store looks extremely uncanny compared to the puppet in image 3 which is a puppet I bought from the same store in 2021 which is an almost exact replica of the official Marvin puppet in image 2.
