my experience with BDO - when I got approved for a CC, they gave me the card I applied for + a Gold Mastercard. Credit limit was about the same as my monthly salary then. They kept increasing my credit limit every 6 months or so until lumobo na sya to almost my annual salary. But don't focus much on the credit limit, if you don't change your spending habits naman this is something that shouldn't affect you.

Always check their website for promos, esp for the Gold MC madami dami din akong promo na nagamit (usually discounts sa mga restaurants, online purchases). Check if they have promos for whatever it is that you are planning to spend on.

I have never owned a JCB so I do not have an informed opinion on that. What I know is ang common talaga sa atin ay Visa and MC.

For installments, better if you avail of 0% interest promos. Sayang din kasi kung hindi 0%. I have other cards as well for this, minsan kasi hindi offered ung 0% sa isang bank pero offered sa kabila. Tiempo tiempo lang ng promo sa whatever it is that you need/want to buy.

Is it really that easy to get a credit card now a days with just a name and an address?? For many financial institutions (including MBNA), yes. As long as they can locate your credit profile, which they can with only your name, address, and DOB, and you have an acceptable credit history, immediate approval is likely. Plus, with the True Line, they're hoping that you transfer the balance on your existing credit cards to them, your (relatively) high credit utilization makes you their idea customer type, and your 700+ credit score shows that you're not high risk. Generally speaking, unless you have a specific package booked through one of the concierge services (or more likely, through the specific card issuer themselves), hotels do not care about how you're paying. Your payment type will never trump your status at the hotel chain. Both Visa and MC have different tiers and if you want to know the differences, read HERE for VISA and HERE for MC . If you've never had any credit cards before, it's unlikely you'll qualify for the credit cards that are associated with upper tier levels.
