I see a lot of youtubers that I follow suggest that an account there is worth it and maybe even essential for some great tips and courses. Do you use them? Are they good?

Hi! I want to learn ecommerce.Do the classes on Masterclass actually teach you at least 1 ecommerce, social media marketing, or digital tool to do anything?

I feel like they're just talking and talking, and not putting their hands in action, at least in some courses, not all.

For example, the music ones, do they go over hardware set=up and do they teach you how to use it, or is it theoretical and not hands on? If it isn't hands-on, then it's basically the same as many college courses, it's all chit-chat and no real life use-cases.

Update: I'm checking CretiveLive and Skillshare yearly subscriptions, $99 per year and $129 per year, respectively. MasterClass is just the most popular of this kind of learning model and apparently, it's not even that in-deep for the most part. Even Garry Kasparov and the poker guys seem to have put more actionable content, and it's just to play a game, compared to the masters in other topics at Masterclasses, lol

There's so many learning platforms out there offering similar coursework. How do you choose?

I've gotten a handful of paid gigs over the years hobbying around, but I'm plunging head-first into it this summer. I'm a big believer in the "forever student" mindset, so I'd love a regular lesson schedule to keep skill sharp. Unfortunately, I'm priced out of most coaching.

What are your thoughts on online VO classes from the likes of Skillshare or Masterclass? I don't mean if you've had direct experience with it. Would you (or a client) negatively judge a voice actor who's "training" listed classes from self-paced, online VO coursework?

I am incredibly interested in learning skills or getting insight on specific interests like these in an audio form. Any other recommendations along these lines are welcome!

I just uploaded my first course on it yesterday. It's about finding your Career Path through Self-Awareness.

It was given a violation notice because they didn't like me including Health related advice (Meditation, Yoga etc.) because I'm not a professional..

Anyways I realized that I can't rely on that platform and need to setup my own thing. I also wanted to focus on the Community aspect.

I was considering Teachable+Circle combination as they integrate together seamlessly, but then I would have to pay $80/month for both. I also considered Mighty Networks but didn't enjoy the interface.

So I was wondering which platforms would be best in my case :)

I am a 2D motion designer looking to improve my craft by learning frame by frame and C4D to get into a nice studio, I don't have the time to deal with a full on course from school of motion (I did 2 and they are very time intensive, also pricey), do you all think skillshare could be a good alternative? I would just like more structure - I learnt most of what I know by YouTube and it was a bit overwhelming to begin with, and then when I took the school of motion and domestika courses they were more helpful as you were guided through. As I want to widen my horizons I thought getting a more versatile platform would be best.

Is it worth it in this case? I read there is a bit of a bad rep of skillshare online regarding pricing and customer service, so wanted to know what you all think or if you have any other suggestion! Thanks!

I love learning, but do not have the time/money for more schooling. I know there are a lot of websites with classes on a subscription based model.

In your opinion, what site has the best value for the price? Websites like Masterclass, BBC Maestro, Skillshare, etc

Hello all! Not too long ago I came out of a depressive episode and started working towards my dream - to become better at drawing and start learning about graphic design.

The problem is, I cannot afford going to college for graphic design in my country.

So I started by looking for free content—I already binged free lessons available on Youtube, and I really fell in-love with graphic design. I also read a few books on it that I found in a library.

My question is for self-made graphic designers who didn’t go to uni/college: what could you suggest me? I think I have watched a lot of free content and I’m ready to learn more advanced things. Should I invest into any learning platform or it’s not worth it?
