We bought a Sterns and Foster from Mattress Firm. About a year in the mattress stopped supporting us. So we put in a claim. We paid for the inspector to come out. He took measurements showing the body sags were well over 1.5 inches (closer to 3 inches) and even stated “you literally have a hole in this mattress where the springs are no longer supporting”. You can kneel on it and sink 6 inches or more. We just received the claim denial from mattress firm. Do we have a right to request the actual inspection report and photos that we paid for and go directly to the manufacturer?

I never charge my customers for a bed inspection. That's ridiculous. It's a warranty issue. If you get nowhere with Mat Firm, try going directly through the manufacturer. If the bed is clean, has the lawtag attached, and proper support, there's no reason to deny the claim. Call TSI and let them know Mat Firm is breaking the terms of their warranty. Best of luck.

Similar situation. Defective Sterns and Foster from Mattress Firm. But instead of paying for an inspection I took the pictures and measurements myself. S&F denied the warranty claim even though the measurements showed otherwise. The store manager at Mattress Firm took care of it. He gave me full credit toward a replacement.

Crazy story today. We bought our mattress at mattress firm in 2016 after we got married. That mattress is now 8 years old and it's really sagging on one side. We're going mattress shopping back to mattress firm on Sunday. And I found out that our mattress is actually still under warranty thru MF. They actually have a 10-year warranty on their mattresses. Wife took the photos and filed the claim right before lunch and we just got an approval for $3,700, the cost of our original mattress towards a new one. Any mattress at mattress firm. What a way to stand by your warranty!

I don’t work at mattress firm but its presumably not “their warranty” its the manufacturer warranty and 10 years is the standard for most. We have Serta and Simmons and both are typically 10 year warranties. Even the ones that have longer warranties tend to be diminishing coverage after the 10 year mark where the amount you would get towards a new mattress drops each year. So not really anything noteworthy about MF aside from perhaps that the specific employee informed you as they should rather than just skirting around it so you would end up paying full price and really more of a lesson on reading, knowing, checking warranties on items you buy.

That’s amazing! It sounds like your salesman pointed you in the right direction, and I am having terrible luck with mattress firm right now. I actually just returned my mattress today and buying elsewhere. They wouldn’t discount the beauty rest black edition and other places were.
