r/feedthebeast on Reddit: Mekanism industrial turbine not having the max energy generation
December 18, 2021 -

I started by following this guide https://ftbwiki.org/Industrial_Turbine and build a max sized optimal turbine, which the stat is the same as the on in wiki. But wiki state that this turbine should be able to generate 267.42 M RF/FE per tick.

Than I go to the official Mekanism wiki https://wiki.aidancbrady.com/wiki/Industrial_Turbine and run a python script to plot out relationship between rotor height and final power using the math in Mekanism wiki, and the result and numbers support the claim on ftbwiki.

Plot for energy and rotor height

But the number in game just does not seems right to me, I've deleted config and regenerated to confirm it's default.

The machine will generate the same power day and night, in sun or rain, but the turbine must have a clear view of the sky (over the rotor housing at the top of the tower). The power output increases linearly with its elevation, to a maximum output of 480 J/t (9.6kJ/s).

Industrial Turbine - Official Feed The Beast Wiki
The Industrial Turbine is a modular multiblock structure added by Mekanism. Its sole purpose is turning Steam into power, using either Mekanism's own Joules or Forge Energy. Being highly customizable, it can be relatively small and compact, but also very large and expensive, and may therefore be adapted to the player's needs.

r/feedthebeast on Reddit: [1.12.2] [Custom Modpack] How to maximize the Mekanism Turbine generation?
July 26, 2020 -

Hey there, I'm a big fan of Mekanism, and I have a setup with a Reactor, and the steam production was going to power an Industrial Turbine (17x17x18). But using Mekanism fluid pipes having a transfer limit, I cannot get even close to what is needed by the Turbine.

I decided to try the Pressure Pipes and obviously, it's enough to power the Turbine to it's maximum capability. But it also drains all of the steam from the Reactor at once. Even having a single steam output and 24 water inputs, it's not enough to keep the Turbine running.

Is there any way to control the amount of steam that will be sent through the pressure pipes? Or is there another way to transfer it without them?

The modpack includes the following:

- EnderIO

- ExtraUtilities 2

- Thermal Dynamics

- BuildCraft

- IndustrialCraft

- Mekanism

- AE2

- Pressure Pipes

- Logistics Pipes

(Many more but they don't have any means of transporting liquids)

Thanks

EDIT: I should mention my Reactor is set to 98

r/feedthebeast on Reddit: Help with mekanism turbine setup
May 1, 2023 -

Hello everyone,

First let me say that this post is supposed to be addressed for those who has more experience with Mekanism, so I'm afraid that if you don't know this mod well you won't be able to help me. But I'm open to ANY suggestion.

Anyway, I've been playing some Stoneblock 3 with some friends and we decided to build this Turbine setup. The issue we are having is not that we aren't producing power or anything, it's just that we are frustrated that the turbine is only producing 800k FE/t and not way more than that. And the issue is that the turbine is not receiving enough steam from the boiler (as you can see in the video below where I show ya'll our setup). I've seen some tutorials on how to make this loop and I've checked the "math" that it is involved, and I think that is correct, meaning: the boiler "Max Boil Rate" * 10 >= fission reactor "Heating Rate" and, the Turbine "Max Flow" or "Max Water Output" (which ever is lowest) must be >= Boiler "Boil Capacity". I have no idea if this is true or not, but I'll assumed that it is bc It kind of make some sense. In theory that issue must be easy to solve, just increase the "Burn Rate" from the fission reactor and it will increase the temp in the boiler producing more steam. But the problem is that when we do that, the water starts to "disappear" and do not come back into the boiler, and without water, there is nothing to cool the Heated Coolant, and everything falls apart. In the video I show that when I increase the burn rate from the fission reactor from 12.5 to 13.

Sorry for the long explanation! Hope it makes sense since English is not my first language!

obs: First we were using mechanical pipes to transfer the water from the turbine to the boiler, but with Quantum Entangloporter the transfer rate is way faster, after that we tried using some watch of flow time from project E to try to accelerate the water transfer rate but it didn't change much. The watches are not affecting any of the reactors.
