My Specs: Asus Maximus Hero VII I5-4690k GTX 970 MSI G.skill Trident X 8gb XFX XTR 550w PSU
So, my computer won't boot after several tries. It suddenly crashed, and it after pressing the power button, the fans and the lights would turn on but no connection to monitor, but now not even the fans work.
In the Q-Code it said 00. I searched online but unfortunately couldn't get to any conclusion. Right now it won't boot, and won't even show any error.
I changed ram, checked cables, pressed the reset button in the motherboard, pressed the star one and after I pressed the "CLR_CMOS" button, the LEDs won't stop blinking, the fans don't work, and it won't start.
I wanted to get some advice on what to do, as I wouldn't want to waste my money on a new motherboard, new CPU and new RAM (because ddr4) and still not have my computer working.
What can I possibly do?
Keep in mind I'm not tech savvy and all I know is from searching about this problem
A couple months, I decided to buy parts to build a PC. I'm nearly regretting this decision. I connected all the parts and checked multiple times to make sure that I built it correctly. But, I keep receiving a 00 error code, and I cannot get anything to display on the monitor. I tried taking out the cooler fan, the CPU, and the RAM, and then putting them all back into place. I even tried taking out the battery and clearing the CMOS (though I'm not sure if it actually cleared, because the error code still appeared). Before, I was able to at least get the lights on the motherboard to light up and the fan to spin. But now after taking out the battery and putting it back it, it's not even turning on.
Can someone help me to troubleshoot this? I need to get this resolved before the end of the month since I will be moving then. Any advice is appreciated...
Hello, For nearly a year I've been receiving error code "00" on my Asus motherboard. No POST happens a lot of times but after turning it off and on for a couple of times(Sometimes just leaving it off for a few hours and then turning it on again) it will again continue to work normally. During the time when "No POST" happens, I've tried removing RAM sticks and I received the same code.
I've also taken my computer twice to the repair shop. These people did the same thing I did. They checked with different RAM (Same Code-00), then they changed the PSU (Same Code-00). And then they say its a motherboard problem and they need to mess with ICs else my computer won't turn on. Another person said my motherboard is dead and I should buy a new mobo instead.
I usually just take the PC back because I know that if I leave it off for a few hours, it ends up working fine(Most of the time it turns on with just a few attempts).
May I know what should I do to fix the 00 error so my computer works fine always?
Things I have tried:
Resetting the BIOS. Works for a day and then it goes back to Code-00 and after 4-5 attempts of powering On and Off it works fine.
Leaving the system on for 10 or so minutes and then retrying (It works most of the time this way). Saw this on a youtube comment once since a lot of people seem to be getting this 00 error. The explanation which the user gave was that the processor needs a bit of warmth. (But again sometimes it doesn't work).
Clearing CMOS and Removing the Battery (This worked the first time I faced the 00 Error. It worked for a few months and when Error-00 appeared again, I tried this method but it didn't work)
Keep in mind, when my computer works it works perfectly. I even tried doing the stress test on CPU-Z and it worked fine. Could it be some major problem still?
Specs:
MOBO: Asus Maximus vii hero motherboard
CPU: Intel Core i7 Processor (4790K) LGA-1150
PSU: Corsair VS650 ATX Power Supply (650 watt)
RAM: HyperX Memory. 8GB DDR3 (1866 CL10 240 Pin UDIMM) Memory Module
FAN: Cooler Master Hyper TX3 Eco (Intel LGA 1151)
SSD: Samsung SSD 850 Pro
Cabinet: Cooler master 912 HAF (Micro ATX/ATX)
The motherboard displays the Q-code "00" and won't boot. If the computer sits for an extended period of time—while I'm at work, for example—then it will boot up and run normally. The problem occurs when I shut the power off and try to perform a cold boot immediately after. The CPU fans spin up but not the case fans. My keyboard and mouse do not appear to be powered either.
The Q-code "00" is listed as "not used" in the manual, by the way.
This has happened ever since I put the computer together.
I have tried a few things to remedy the problem:
-
Tried to boot with just one stick of RAM. I tried it in all four slots.
-
Tried to boot with a different power supply.
-
Tried to boot with the HDMI cable plugged into the motherboard with the GPU removed entirely.
-
Tried to boot with all peripherals removed.
-
Reset CMOS.
-
Tried a different CMOS battery.
-
Updated to latest BIOS (1603) using USB flashback. Also tried reverting to BIOS version 1505.
