This one is driving me crazy.
I purchased a new laptop and the retailer sold me McAfee protection along with it.
I redeemed by subscription using the 25 digit key and set up my account at McAfee.
When viewing my account page it tells me I already have a McAfee purchase from 2015 (of which I have no memory), and it seems to have theoretically added my recent purchase to whatever device I had then (Hewlett Packard is mentioned)
When I try to download the McAfee Product to my recently purchased laptop I get a message saying I already have McAfee on this device. ("Good News! You already have McAfee on your device!") However, when I click on the "open app" button I get taken to a page saying "your free trial is ended" and then some purchase options. Presumably this is referring to a free trial of McAfee that was on my new laptop for a week or two when I first got it, separate from my purchase of McAfee.
So it seems I have my purchase of McAfee added to a device I can't remember from nine years ago, and a "free trial" version on my current device, which has ended.
Absolutely infuriating. How can I get my purchase on to the frikkin' device I bought it with ?!
