In addition to the casing and ports you’ll need at least one induction cell and one induction provider inside the structure. One stores the energy and one outputs the energy — they come in the traditional upgrades of basic to ultimate. It’s a very simple structure to make, you can mix and match induction cells/providers and have multiple of one or the other. This will allow you to store more energy than you’ll ever need. The induction cells can be pretty tedious to make as you’ll need a ton on energy cells/cubes but upgrading this structure is necessary to keep progressing Edit — Also if you’re running low on diamond and obsidian, make a digital miner if you haven’t already. Using turbine + fission reactor to make polonium, but whenever my battery fills and my turbine fills it stops producing water so i have to turn my reactor off, but then that means i stop producing polonium
currently i just dumped all my power into 2 heaters set to the max and it works fine, however i would like a batter way of dumping power (if there is any)
i would make a better battery but im running dangerously low on compressed diamonds and obsidian

Hello everyone. I recently built a fission reactor with a turbine, they work fine but everytime the turbine reaches max internal battery capacity, everything stops working. I use the turbine to energize every machine I have from ore processing to fuel production but I still have too much energy. How can I consume this energy? Is there a machine that sucks up a lot of energy to work?

My main reason to have a lot of energy is to set up drills, my favourite is the industrial foregoing one but I think the mekanism digital miner is pretty OP too

Adding speed upgrades to any machine increases the power draw significantly. Besides that, you could make an Induction Matrix to store all that energy (it’ll take forever to fill, long enough that you’ll have time to upgrade it as necessary). Long term you can try and make a Supercritical Phase Shifter, which will pretty much take all the power you can possibly throw at it. But you’ll need to do fusion before that.

There's a little box just under and to the right of the hydrogen, click it twice until it says "Dumping Excess." If you're using an older verion of Mek that doesn't have this, hook a gas can up to the pressure line that your hydrogen is hooked up to, and set it to dump.

May 2, 2021 - Is there any way to tell it to stop running when neither output is needed, but to run when one output is needed (and dump the excess for the other)? ... Otherwise you could fill up a tank for each gas and turn off the separator if both tanks are full by using a logic gate of some kind ... I am almost thinking the current behavior is a bug. I can't imagine a situation where you'd want to be just eating energy (and your fluid input) and not producing anything. If that was your goal I imagine there must be simpler ways to do that. ... Not really. Mekanism is a mod of keeping up.

Hi. I have started generating good amount of power by burning some chemicals with mekanism. I need machines that consume energy and make my life easier. I don't want to use buildcraft's builder for mining because i believe that it is over powered. I am obtaining materials with mystical agriculture plants using thermal's plant growers.
Do you guys have any machine suggestions? Meantime i will just leave tech mods for now and go for magic mods.

if you are on atm9, powah's crafting system will need a lot of energy to make the unobtanium alloys. i don't think there is a lot of especific machines that require that much power individualy, but a bunch of running machines together will probably make up for what you want. maybe make an ore multiplication system idk

You have Mekanism. Build a massive battery to store it for when you need it since at some point you're likely going to need anti-matter or trying to kickstart a fusion reactor. Better to have built up an energy storage by then and be able to just dump all the excess energy in the system than having to slowly build it up

February 10, 2024 - You can just put the turbines in dumping excess, or even just trash the steam. Fission reactors aren’t great in terms of FE produced compared to lag produced anyways so it’s not really a viable energy solution

You can see in the image above that the run of cables that are under my crosshairs has about 600 kFE capacity and it’s currently empty. That’s because those electrolytic separators are always running and dumping excess hydrogen and oxygen from an endless supply of water, otherwise keeping all the tanks full.
