This is a 100% efficient process (you get all of the power out that you put in, which is also why the Energy Upgrades do not lower the power usage the Electrolytic Separator, they just increase the amount of power the machine can store), so Oxygen is practically free once you've got your infrastructure set up. I'm trying to set up a purification factory for our ore processing setup and I've built the elite tier upgraded version. The problem is it burns through so much oxygen. I've got 9 electrolytic separators going and it's still not enough. Is there any easier way to get mass amounts of the stuff?

Speed upgrades in the Electrolytic Separator and Gas upgrades in the factory will do more for you than just spamming separators. Also, while some have mentioned burning hydrogen for an energy-neutral cycle, you can also take the hydrogen and do an Ethylene cycle for power-positive setup. It'll require a crusher, and feeding it some kind of plant matter (such as potatoes), and another machine to make the ethylene, but once built it is set-and-forget.

My Advanced Factory set to purify can't keep up. Should I build more Electrolytic Separators or is the issue that the pressurized tubes can't hold all the oxygen flowing through? (I have 2 electrolytic separators currently).

3 Separators barely yields enough Oxygen to keep a net gain while running a single Basic Purifying Factory with max upgrades. At least from my experience.

Are you venting or using all the hydrogen? If the hydrogen tank is full oxygen production stops. If you are already venting the hydrogen try adding another separator or two to the same oxygen line, the pressurized tube can handle plenty. You can also add some tanks between the separators and purifier to store extra gas when you're not processing. Also, I recommend the elite factory. I don't know if it's more efficient than advanced but I know it uses less gas per process than a basic factory. Lastly, make sure you set the factory to auto sort so it uses all its processing slots.
