How large would it be for a 9x9 fission reactor? Iโ€™ve googled this a ton and even tried to ask people on discord and gotten no answers. Is there some kind of PDF that shows this or something?

(Power is not the issue, I have 32 wind generators, and everything seems to be running fine.)

My question is:

What's wrong with my setup? From what Ive seen, what I have is way overboard. My turbine blades are barley spinning at all, and I'm not sure why. Do I seriously need a Fusion Reactor? Should I try to make a smaller turbine?

I honestly don't know.

I was wondering if Mekanisms turbine is disabled in all the mods 8. I have built it about 3 times in my survival world and a LOT of times in creative and I still can't get the red particles. Is anyone having this problem? Yes I have look up a tutorial.

Been playing with these in creative for an hour or two now, biggest I've built is 17x17x32, curious if anyone's found a hard limit on the size.

They get more efficient the larger the turbine blades are. It gets a bit silly at this size, producing over 5x the power of what a Big Reactors turbine would, given the same amount of steam.

r/feedthebeast on Reddit: [E2:E] Mekanism Turbine values correct or not?
November 20, 2023 -

I'll open by saying I'm following the wiki page here, specifically the max turbine of 17x17x18. I've watched some videos for actual placement reference, and some of those videos use different specs (one of them was using 14 turbine rotors, which is 4 more than the wiki says is max?). So aside from the casings, which I use structural glass for inside faces, I have the listed 585 vents and 224 dispersers, 5 coils (in a line, not crossed), 10 rotors and 20 blades. Below is the stats the turbine lists.

Anyway, the wiki doesn't say which version those values are from, so I don't know if E2:E nerfs the values or if I just built it wrong. It also doesn't give any direct values for flow rate to double check the build matches. Considering the nature of E2:E, I immediately just assumed it was nerfed because 133 mrf/t is a ton, but I don't know.

Update: So I've changed the config to follow a video tutorial using 14 rotors and 7 coils. I'm now under the impression that either the pack itself severely nerfs RF generation from turbines or the server I'm playing on has specifically lowered it. E2:E Mekanism configs show less for disperser and condenser rates. I didn't think those would affect generation, but I assume they do now. In any case, my setup is exactly the same as the video I watched and my generation is nearly 5x lower, and their config is roughly 6 mrf/t less than the wiki even with the apparent nerfs. So unless I'm missing something, I'm going to conclude this is just a pack limit on the turbines.

r/feedthebeast on Reddit: Mekanism steam turbine and rail craft boilers
March 9, 2021 -

I am paying tnfc 1.7.10 and I am about to build a mekanism turbine. I have 6 max size rail craft lp boilers which produce 2160mb of steam(360 each) and, of course, minimum size mekanism turbine must be more than enough for that amount of steam.

I couldn't find any good information about the turbines on the internet, the wiki pages (mekanism, ftb and gamepedia) are basically useless just stating the obvious and very little useful information. YouTube tutorials are just wiki visualizations, so to speak, so not much more help there. I hope someone has an experience with mekanism turbines on this sub.

On the wiki there's a formula in the mekanism wiki: FLOWxROTOR_HEIGHTx50RF/7

And on ftb wiki: Production(J) = SteamFlowRate(mB/t) ร— BladesNumber ร— 25/7

Which both imply that there's no downside to having more rotor blades and a longer shaft heh aside from requiring more resources to build it. There's no info on how much steam a single rotor blade can handle but I am sure it's much more than the pathetic amount that my six max size lp boilers generate, so I could go with a minimum size turbine, but I'd rather build bigger because I can.

So to sum up - is there a downside to building a mekanism turbine that can handle much more steam than you can produce (maybe hundreds of thousands time more)? Will it be less efficient at steam consumption?

Edit: also does mekanism turbine return full amount of water if I put condensers in there?

Is it just me or is the turbine just not something that can be figured out? its always limited.. and makes about 800k rf/tick 9x9x17 and it has 105 vents 26 blades ( can't build taller )

its getting approx 24 buckets a tick of steam.. and i don't know how to get the reactor MORE water without MORE pumps

and the mechanical pipe is running 1 pipe from the reactor to turbine handeling all that.. but should be limited to 6.4 buckets?

When i try to use the quantum entangleporter i get 64 mb/tick of water per face of it?!?!?!

its almost as if the turbine is setup to not be something to ever be understood and the reactor should be used like the version 8 and JUST make power from it and don't try to make steam..

or am i just crazy and just am not understanding!?!?!

I think that the mekanism turbine is always limited, because it just tells you what to upgrade if you want to produce more power. Example: a turbine with 10 vents and 10 blades produces X RF/t. The GUI says that you are limited by blades, but you decide to ignore that and you add 5 more blades. You expect to produce a bounch more RF, but you don't, because the number of blades is still the same. If you added more blades, you would have increased your RF production. Long story short, the turbine will always be limited by something, even if you have a max sized turbine will the max number of blades, vents and pressure dispersers

So I made a small album showing my build in this thread ( https://www.reddit.com/r/feedthebeast/comments/6bbgej/finally_got_a_chance_to_me_max_out_a_mek_reactor/ ). It actually ended up being flawed as I was limiting myself on vents, in the end you could fill up the entire ceiling of an 11x11 turbine with 81 steam vents and another 9 steam vents on each side of the turbine multiblock that is same level as the coils for an additional 36 more. This puts the total amount of blocks at roughly 28 turbine blades, ~7sh coils, 117 steam vents (double check my math on this, don't have access to the server at the moment), 80 pressure dispersers, and the rest casings/valves. Maxing out the reactor at a 98 injection rate only produced about 3kish buckets of steam - whereas a full sized turbine (once again, I repeat the one in my thread was actually not full size, it was only using about 1/3 of the possible steam vents) accepts about 4k buckets of steam to produce a max total of around ~390m rf/t. Getting the amount of buckets to maximize it is NOT practical with only mekanism installed. Even though the mechanical pipes have a way higher throughput than most other mods, you would still need hundreds of threads of pipes feeding out of multiple reactors and into the turbine since a reactor is typically limited by how many ports you can attach to it. Not to mention generating that many buckets is also very difficult for most mods without lag crippling setups - only the pressure pipes mod by bdew manages to solve this problem. However aside from min-maxing, there also isn't really a need to max out a turbine/reactor because then again - there aren't many things that eat up ~390m rf/t anyways. As for the behavior of the pipes, they can extract from a source (reactor does not auto-eject steam unfortunately) at a rate of 6.4b/t but has a capacity of 64 buckets, so if you have multiple threads extracting and condensing into one pipe that could be one explanation. Also quantum entangloporters overall aren't very useful for wireless transfer of fluids/items, and I've only really used them for gasses.
