Question first: Is it currently possible to output water from the Mekanism Industrial Turbine?
Answer (thanks to u/rreeggkk): Connect the pipe to a Turbine Vent.
I'm playing with Mekanism v9.1.0.281 for Minecraft version 1.7.10. According to aidencbrady.com, this is the latest version for Mekanism on 1.7.10.
I'm under the impression that you can export water from the Turbine after steam has been processed in it. I was lead to believe this by the "Saturating Condenser" block, whose tool-tip states "A block that condenses steam by an Industrial Turbine into water. These can be placed in any arrangement above your rotational complex."
I've placed multiple Saturating Condensers above the rotational complex. The multi-block forms properly. The statistics tab of the Turbine GUI lists a positive number for max water output. When I try to extract water from the Turbine from any face or height, I'm not able to. I have tried connecting fluid export pipes from numerous mods to the Turbine Valve, but can't get water to export. Is this feature not yet implemented? Or am I possibly doing something wrong? For what it's worth, the GUI doesn't show an internal storage tank for water.
EDIT: Something I forgot to mention, is that I haven't been able to get the multi-block to form with any Saturating Condenser blocks on the exterior of the structure. So far, I've only been able to get it to form with the Saturating Condenser blocks on the interior of the structure, above the rotational complex. This means they are outside the reach of pipes. I've tried poking around to see if I can get the multi-block to form with any of them on the exterior, and I have failed to do so. I can't try connecting pipes to these blocks directly rather than a Turbine Valve. It just isn't possible.
Connect the pipes to the vents that you place normally. They will push the water out
Did you try connecting pipes to the actual saturating condenser?
hey, i'm just trying stuff out here, and i've noticed that i can't actually get an industrial turbine to produce water. it's making power, and i have pipes hooked up to the vents, but there's no water coming out anywhere.
how do i make the machine actually output water? when i look at the turbine statistics, it simply says: "max water output: 0 mB/t"
i'm playing on 1.16.3, mekanism v10. i've seen someone in a tutorial do the same thing in the same version.
Hello everyone,
First let me say that this post is supposed to be addressed for those who has more experience with Mekanism, so I'm afraid that if you don't know this mod well you won't be able to help me. But I'm open to ANY suggestion.
Anyway, I've been playing some Stoneblock 3 with some friends and we decided to build this Turbine setup. The issue we are having is not that we aren't producing power or anything, it's just that we are frustrated that the turbine is only producing 800k FE/t and not way more than that. And the issue is that the turbine is not receiving enough steam from the boiler (as you can see in the video below where I show ya'll our setup). I've seen some tutorials on how to make this loop and I've checked the "math" that it is involved, and I think that is correct, meaning: the boiler "Max Boil Rate" * 10 >= fission reactor "Heating Rate" and, the Turbine "Max Flow" or "Max Water Output" (which ever is lowest) must be >= Boiler "Boil Capacity". I have no idea if this is true or not, but I'll assumed that it is bc It kind of make some sense. In theory that issue must be easy to solve, just increase the "Burn Rate" from the fission reactor and it will increase the temp in the boiler producing more steam. But the problem is that when we do that, the water starts to "disappear" and do not come back into the boiler, and without water, there is nothing to cool the Heated Coolant, and everything falls apart. In the video I show that when I increase the burn rate from the fission reactor from 12.5 to 13.
Sorry for the long explanation! Hope it makes sense since English is not my first language!
obs: First we were using mechanical pipes to transfer the water from the turbine to the boiler, but with Quantum Entangloporter the transfer rate is way faster, after that we tried using some watch of flow time from project E to try to accelerate the water transfer rate but it didn't change much. The watches are not affecting any of the reactors.
Our Setup
I saw that vents are limiting the turbine, could that be the cause? The turbine is always full of steam.
I even tried using multiple mechanical pipes to output water, but that didn't work either.
I started by following this guide https://ftbwiki.org/Industrial_Turbine and build a max sized optimal turbine, which the stat is the same as the on in wiki. But wiki state that this turbine should be able to generate 267.42 M RF/FE per tick.
Than I go to the official Mekanism wiki https://wiki.aidancbrady.com/wiki/Industrial_Turbine and run a python script to plot out relationship between rotor height and final power using the math in Mekanism wiki, and the result and numbers support the claim on ftbwiki.
Plot for energy and rotor height
But the number in game just does not seems right to me, I've deleted config and regenerated to confirm it's default.
