r/feedthebeast on Reddit: Mekanism Turbine Reactor not outputting water into Fission Reactor
January 3, 2023 - I am guessing it's caused by you not using/outputting the power from the turbine, because then it stops generating power and water. ... IIRC the port you use to input steam into the turbine can also be used to output power (this might be wrong), you can void the power or build a Induction Matrix to store a lot of it and not worry ... No, they should actually set to default inputing side as well. Vents output automatically and mekanism pipes work with throughput of (total capacity of pipe mb/t) which is like 10x higher than pipe can push/pull by itself) Edit: 10x more with a single pipe block I mean, if you add more pipes in line you can multiply that by number of blocks

Fill the remaining walls and ceiling with turbine casings and/or turbine vents. By fitting the structure with saturating condensers, part of the steam will be refunded as water. This is highly helpful to maintain a net positive of water in a fission reactor system. Note that the water will be outputted from turbine vents instead of valves, and that the water is not accumulated: if nothing is connected, the condensed water simply disappears.

r/feedthebeast on Reddit: Mekanism Industrial Turbine water output
August 12, 2016 -

Question first: Is it currently possible to output water from the Mekanism Industrial Turbine?

Answer (thanks to u/rreeggkk): Connect the pipe to a Turbine Vent.

I'm playing with Mekanism v9.1.0.281 for Minecraft version 1.7.10. According to aidencbrady.com, this is the latest version for Mekanism on 1.7.10.

I'm under the impression that you can export water from the Turbine after steam has been processed in it. I was lead to believe this by the "Saturating Condenser" block, whose tool-tip states "A block that condenses steam by an Industrial Turbine into water. These can be placed in any arrangement above your rotational complex."

I've placed multiple Saturating Condensers above the rotational complex. The multi-block forms properly. The statistics tab of the Turbine GUI lists a positive number for max water output. When I try to extract water from the Turbine from any face or height, I'm not able to. I have tried connecting fluid export pipes from numerous mods to the Turbine Valve, but can't get water to export. Is this feature not yet implemented? Or am I possibly doing something wrong? For what it's worth, the GUI doesn't show an internal storage tank for water.

EDIT: Something I forgot to mention, is that I haven't been able to get the multi-block to form with any Saturating Condenser blocks on the exterior of the structure. So far, I've only been able to get it to form with the Saturating Condenser blocks on the interior of the structure, above the rotational complex. This means they are outside the reach of pipes. I've tried poking around to see if I can get the multi-block to form with any of them on the exterior, and I have failed to do so. I can't try connecting pipes to these blocks directly rather than a Turbine Valve. It just isn't possible.

r/Mekanism on Reddit: Industrial Turbine filling with water instantly and not working. Help!
June 7, 2025 -

My industrial turbine was working perfectly until it just spontaneously filled with what I presume is water (I have zero saturating condensers) and stops working. Anyone know what the problem is?

  1. It was working fine before. 2. You can't pump out the water out. 3. Doesn't work with any setting (i.e. dumping excess steam or idle. 4. Adding saturating condensers didn't help.

You're maxed on energy in the turbine. Ironically, you have too much energy. Make an induction matrix.

You have to take the power it generates out. Mekanism reactors don't keep producing energy when their output buffer is full (actually a lot of mods do this). They treat energy like any other object, you have to take the completed product OUT before it will make any more. Think of it like a furnace making baked potatoes, once you have 64 baked potatoes in the out slot, the furnace stops consuming potatoes and fuel. So your turbine is "done" making power, so it has stopped consuming steam which eventually filled up. Which will lead to your nuclear plant filling up with steam it produces, BUT it will continue to consume fuel and produce heat, and since it can't consume water anymore to make more steam to cool off (because steam is full), it overheats and explodes. That's how important taking the energy out and making sure you have adequate storage for any you produce is. Mekanism Induction Matrix multiblock, energy cubes, batteries, figure out some way to store the energy. Generally, your grid should be set up like: Energy Producers -> Energy Storage -> Energy Consumers. Whenever possible never power a thing directly from a reactor (of any mod). Your energy transporting cables should be separated into two completely independent networks. Those that delivery power from the reactors to the battery, and those that deliver power from the battery to the consumers.

July 16, 2020 - Another problem with this setup: when turbine can no longer output power (its internal buffer and whatever it feeds energy to are full), it stops consuming steam or just dumps the excess, depending on what I choose in the interface. Problem is, in either case it also stops outputting water, and this breaks my closed water circuit.

hey, i'm just trying stuff out here, and i've noticed that i can't actually get an industrial turbine to produce water. it's making power, and i have pipes hooked up to the vents, but there's no water coming out anywhere.

how do i make the machine actually output water? when i look at the turbine statistics, it simply says: "max water output: 0 mB/t"

i'm playing on 1.16.3, mekanism v10. i've seen someone in a tutorial do the same thing in the same version.

r/feedthebeast on Reddit: Help with mekanism turbine setup
May 1, 2023 -

Hello everyone,

First let me say that this post is supposed to be addressed for those who has more experience with Mekanism, so I'm afraid that if you don't know this mod well you won't be able to help me. But I'm open to ANY suggestion.

Anyway, I've been playing some Stoneblock 3 with some friends and we decided to build this Turbine setup. The issue we are having is not that we aren't producing power or anything, it's just that we are frustrated that the turbine is only producing 800k FE/t and not way more than that. And the issue is that the turbine is not receiving enough steam from the boiler (as you can see in the video below where I show ya'll our setup). I've seen some tutorials on how to make this loop and I've checked the "math" that it is involved, and I think that is correct, meaning: the boiler "Max Boil Rate" * 10 >= fission reactor "Heating Rate" and, the Turbine "Max Flow" or "Max Water Output" (which ever is lowest) must be >= Boiler "Boil Capacity". I have no idea if this is true or not, but I'll assumed that it is bc It kind of make some sense. In theory that issue must be easy to solve, just increase the "Burn Rate" from the fission reactor and it will increase the temp in the boiler producing more steam. But the problem is that when we do that, the water starts to "disappear" and do not come back into the boiler, and without water, there is nothing to cool the Heated Coolant, and everything falls apart. In the video I show that when I increase the burn rate from the fission reactor from 12.5 to 13.

Sorry for the long explanation! Hope it makes sense since English is not my first language!

obs: First we were using mechanical pipes to transfer the water from the turbine to the boiler, but with Quantum Entangloporter the transfer rate is way faster, after that we tried using some watch of flow time from project E to try to accelerate the water transfer rate but it didn't change much. The watches are not affecting any of the reactors.

Feeding sufficient amounts of water to a powerful generator such as a Fusion Reactor is extraordinarily difficult using only Mekanism, which can only generate water using Electric Pumps. Therefore it is typically best to return water back to the generator, forming a closed loop. As Industrial Turbines can reclaim enormous quantities of water, transporting it at sufficient speeds can be a challenge.

r/feedthebeast on Reddit: Easy fix to water problem when working with mekanism machines or any machine that requires water
September 17, 2024 -

Normal setup for a mekanism steam turbine is always a closed setup where the steam is supplied in to the turbine and the water from the turbine is supplied back in to your reactor or boiler. But you can run in to several problems like water being insufficient or your pipes not being able to supply water fast enough.

FIX: majority of the biggest modpacks like enigmatica have actual additions and cooking for block heads. With the help of instant transfer capability of fluid laser relays. Plus sink from the cooking for block heads mod helps you fill up max sized boiler in miliseconds and always keep it full. Also steam is transffered as liquid so you can also insta transfer steam into your turbines again by using fluid laser relays.

Just by usıng a sink a and couple of fluid laser relays. You can have a much compact system. Also with this method you're boiler or reactor will always produce max amount of steam possible.

r/feedthebeast on Reddit: Help with mekanism: mechanical pipe doesn't connect to turbine valve

I followed this tutorial to build a industrial turbine as well as this tutorial for the thermoelectric boiler. However, as you can see with my screenshot, it seems like it's not compatible despite every tutorial using mechanical pipes. I tried with pressurized pipes, it connects, but the steam still isn't outputting from my boiler. Does anyone know why it doesn't work?

Edit: My problem was that I only used the configurator on the pressurized pipe, not on the steam output valve.

March 30, 2020 - Maybe im dumb and searching has failed me, but i cant seem to extract power from an industrial turbine. the universal power cable does not connect to the turbine valve. i tried using the configurator to force it but it still will not connect. the turbine itself sparkled red and i can open the turbine stats and production menu and the pressurized tube im using for steam also connects to the other valve i have correctly. also, likely unrelated, im using a reactor to supply steam, but once the turbine fills with steam it stops producing and just sits there, setting from idle to dumping excess does not resolve this. the build contains 8 blades, 5 coils, 8 dispersers, and 33 vents. Forge: 31.1.23 Mekanism: 9.9.16.408 Other relevant version: 1.15.2
