Hey guys, I'm getting super frustrated. Back in mid February we had a blackout. Unfortunately didn't have a psu. It killed my power supply. Got a new one, everything was working fine, and then I has another brownout. Computer booted up, but if I leave it on past a day, or try to run cinebench, it shuts off then I need to wait a little cause memory code: 00 keeps popping up. Can anyone tell me what that code means? I've changed out my ram, rebuilt the computer in a new case and checked my ryzen 3960 for bent pins but there were none. I tried to being the board to microcenter but they tested it with my ram and had no boot issues. This leads me to believe it's either my cpu or graphics card. What are your guys thoughts?
Edit: this is my build - https://pcpartpicker.com/list/T8vwJf
I often see posts where Q-Code 00 is immediately treated as a dead CPU—especially among ASRock users. But based on my recent experience, I’d recommend staying calm and trying a few things first.
While stress-testing my 9800X3D and G.Skill CL26 RAM (1.40V), I hit Q-Code 00 multiple times when pushing the limits. A simple CMOS reset? Didn’t help. But what I consistently noticed was this:
All memory profiles in BIOS were suddenly blank, and even EXPO wouldn’t apply. The fix? Manually re-enter the correct RAM timings (don’t trust Auto—they were way off in my case), and save + reboot.
Bonus tip: after a successful boot, shut down, flip your PSU switch off, and tap the power button a few times to discharge. This clears out any lingering issues that could cause false Q-Codes.
If your board lacks a postcode display, I get how this could look like a fatal error. But it might just be the RAM training going sideways. Try this before sending in an RMA.
