@RoHe The problem is when it won't turn the feature on for millions of Dell computers and it does not list ANY drivers (yours listed one).  All of those Dell computers are eligible and configured to be able to turn the feature on. How do I know this? I experienced it on three straight Dell computers that were eligible and had to apply my fix to be able to turn it on. It's not the registry fix some talk about. It's nuanced and non-trivial. All of those Dell computers report zero problematic drivers. That gives engineers the false impression their machine is not qualified for system integrity. Secondly, Microsoft and the legendary Scot Hanselman who works there all talk about how important System Integrity is. As a DFIR and malware hunter, I understand it's importance and am sad people can't turn it on when there is nothing shown in the list of drivers. Users are hugely dismissive of this feature as though it is not important at all. Finally, since I have a solution, I happen to know it's an issue that deserves the attention of both Microsoft and Dell.  Over the last 20 years, I occasionally see hard-to-solve (but important) problems not being addressed by both companies with each side pointing to the other as the root cause. That's sad. It's 100% an issue for both companies but it *is* mostly a Dell issue. Answer from Harry STein on dell.com

When is Microsoft going to fix the Memory Integrity issue - Microsoft Q&A
October 23, 2024 - The following day as arranged I had a call back from Microsoft but from a technician in the Escalation Department. I explained that although my PC seemed 'fixed' I had noticed a Windows Alert in that the Memory Integrity was switched off and I could not turn it on.

r/microsoft on Reddit: Memory Integrity is off again
May 18, 2023 -

For the 2nd time, Microsoft Windows 11 Pro has turned off Memory Integrity on one of my laptops. For the 2nd time, it says I have "incompatible drivers". And for the 2nd time, it will not show me or tell me what drivers it doesn't like. I'm sick of it.

Cannot Turn on Memory Integrity
It's disappointing that Dell's uninstall process is faulty and that Microsoft doesn't address the widespread issue of Memory Integrity failing with a blank list of incompatible drivers. More on dell.com

If the test fails in both sockets, ram is faulty. You could confirm it with using memtest86 program. More on reddit.com

I said 3 main statements in my post.  Would you elaborate on which one and the reason why it's incorrect.  I will be happy to remove my post. OP post is very lengthy.  This could not be it. Is it an essential function that a computer can not run without it?  Not every computers can use memory integrity and it does not replace other system protection or security software?  Is this wrong. Or the question be better asked at Dell instead of at Microsoft.  Many are still unsolved here. Did you offer solution to those who posted that same question in this community?

Memory - Integrity Test Failed on Windows 10. | DELL Technologies
October 25, 2016 - The problem happened, as I mentioned, due to Windows 10 update failure, which led to one of the RAM sticks going faulty (or probably already was). I tested all 4 RAMs one by one, found out the faulty one, replaced with new one, booted from USB Installation Media that I created earlier for Win10, and installed Win10 x64 bit, running smoothly now.

I have a Dell XPS 13. I randomly decided to open up defender and saw that my memory integrity was off. I've tried every little method I've found on the Internet but couldn't find anything, plus there are NO drivers mentioned by Windows Security despite it saying there is. Am I doomed?

You might have the same problem as I do. There is a Dell driver that doesn't show up when you ask for Windows Security to list incompatible drivers, dddriver64Dcsa.sys (version 2.0.6.0 ), that you can find on both drivers and driverstore folders in the system32 folder. I was only able to discover it by running a Microsoft HVCIScan executable that Microsoft pulled from distribution (a quick search shows me that it appears that there was a dll hijacking vulnerability in it, they haven't offered a new version since). When I ran the scan through a command prompt, the scan failed with an error because of this driver. Curiously, it's not because the driver itself is incompatible with Memory Integrity, but something about it makes so the executable can't actually scan the driver to determine if it is or not. That's why it doesn't show up as an incompatible driver on Windows Security: it can't say it's incompatible because of the scan failure, so it's not listed, but because it can't say it is compatible, Memory Integrity remains blocked. My guess is that every Dell system with this driver can't turn on Memory Integrity. You'd either have to turn off that driver, or make a clean install with no Dell software.

Alright, so, after it failed, I reseated the ram because the location was DIMM A. I’m still getting that error, being 2000-0123. I don’t wanna have to order new ram.

Here’s the test log entry:

Memory - March B Test

Test Results: Fail

Error code 2000-0123

Msg: Memory integrity test failed.

I hope this helps. Also it would be nice if you could explain how the march test works.

Hi Christine,

I understand that you are experiencing an issue with the "Memory Integrity Off" warning in Windows 11.

The reason you are receiving this pop-up warning is that Windows 11 turns off memory integrity by default, but you can manually turn it on to improve the security of your system.

Memory integrity is a protection mechanism that prevents malware and attackers from modifying and tampering with the operating system memory. Turning this feature on adds an extra layer of protection to your device, thereby reducing the risk of attack.

Below are the steps to turn on this feature:

Please open Windows 11 "Settings", go to "Privacy and Security" in the lower left corner, select "Open Windows Security Center", and then go to "Privacy and Security". , then go to "Device Security", click on "Kernel Isolation Details" on the right, and finally "Turn on "Memory Integrity". After completing this step, the warning you received should be gone.

I hope the above information is useful to you, please feel free to contact me if there is anything you are not sure about or need help with.

Best Regards,

Ian - MSFT | Microsoft Community Support Specialist

Thank you, Ian,

That was helpful but it takes me to an error saying I have incompatible drivers.

I have tried using windows update but it didn't find any.

I also use AVG driver Updater.

Is it safe to just leave it off until a new update fixes things?

I am a rookie with Win 11 after just upgrading after a long wait.

Christine
