Some made in Canada (mostly men's) clothing
Naked and Famous jeans are amazing quality. Pricey, but I'm amazed at the quality. More on reddit.com

Good brands/shops in Canada for quality and fashionable casual and work attire?
For jeans, Naked and Famous. For casual, Reigning Champ. For plain tees, House of Blanks. For boots, Canada West. I haven't found a shirt maker that I like the price/quality ratio of, so buy Kamakura and Portuguese Flannel mostly. altitude-sports.com, sales often and good membership. You didn't mention price though. Harry Rosen and Blazer for Men have nice clothes, but they can get spendy. More on reddit.com

r/BuyCanadian on Reddit: Some made in Canada (mostly men's) clothing
February 14, 2025 -

There have been several recent threads asking about Canadian options for a given category of clothing. Often, the most prominent responses include a mix of Canadian-owned brands that manufacture overseas or foreign brands that are simply not American. That’s fine, and given the current circumstances, that is probably what many are looking for. However, I have been writing up a list of Canadian brands that manufacture in Canada, and thought I’d share it here in case others were also interested in that side of “buy Canadian” (and might want to add to it).

This list is by no means exhaustive or broadly representative (and it skews hard towards men’s, though some of the companies linked also make unisex and women’s items). Several of the brands here are those with which I have personal (and positive) experience. Others are brands I’ve seen mentioned here or elsewhere that have caught my interest. Several will be familiar to most, others I don't see mentioned as often. If I missed your favorite made in Canada brands, it isn’t personal. I just don’t know them (yet), so please add them in a comment.

Clothing and outerwear

  • Naked & Famous Denim

    • Denim. Lots of it. Many options in more “normal” shuttle-loomed denim from Japan. There are also options with unusual dyes, interesting textures, and monstrously heavy denim fabrics. Also shirts and occasionally other items. I’ve had a few pairs of N&F jeans and a jacket, all have been well made and aged gracefully. Most items are cut and sewn in Canada.

  • Anián

    • Seeing as Anián comes up in nearly every r/BuyCanadian thread concerning clothing, there isn’t much to add here. Deadstock and upcycled fabrics with an emphasis on natural fibers. Made in Canada.

  • Haven

    • One of my favorite clothing manufacturers. Haven’s in-house brand makes men’s clothing and outerwear with top-shelf materials and great QoL details. Many of the same fabrics from Schoeller, Polartec, Gore, etc. used in high-end outdoor gear but in city-friendly designs and with nonexistent or very subtle branding. Also fabrics in natural fibers from Loro Piana, Duca Visconti, and various luxe knits. Most Haven-branded clothing is made in Canada, with the rest (especially cotton knits and denim) made in Japan. Provenance of each item is listed clearly. B&M locations in Vancouver and Toronto.

  • Kanata Knits

    • Cowichan-style cardigans. Thick, cozy, and hand-knit in Canada. Some might prefer to size up.

  • Outclass

    • A wide range of well-made contemporary menswear. Most (all?) made in Ontario.

  • 18 Waits

    • A range of high-quality menswear made throughout Canada.

  • House Of Blanks

    • Sweatshirts, sweatpants, and t-shirts cut and sewn in Canada from fabric knit in Canada. If anyone reading this is a business-owner looking for knit/fleece blanks to print or embroider, they sell wholesale as well.

  • Jerico

    • Mostly sweats and t’s, knit, cut, and sewn in Ontario. Wholesale as well.

  • Frère du Nord

    • Mostly sweats and t’s, made in Ontario.

  • PolarPiece

    • Mostly sweats and t’s, made in Ontario.

  • The Great Canadian Sox Company

    • Socks. All the socks from casual to hiking socks in various materials. Made in Ontario.

  • Himel Bros. Leather

    • I’ve seen a few negative comments about their customer service, but those appear to be outliers. The overall consensus seems to be that these are excellent, heritage-style leather jackets. Made in Toronto, ON.

  • Skookum Brand

    • Likely overkill for most people who don’t spend a lot of time outdoors in severe conditions. For those who do, this is baller outdoor gear from the Yukon.

  • Outdoor Survival Canada

    • No personal experience with their coats. I’ve seen positive comments about them, they look good to me, and are made in Toronto, ON.

Footwear and winter accessories

  • Kamik

    • I’m only familiar with their winter boots, though those have kept me warm and dry through several winters of shoveling snow. I believe that not all models are made in Canada these days, though some still are. Check the specific product page to be sure.

  • Viberg

    • Viberg is one of those cases where the product isn’t cheap, but you get what you pay for. The icons are service boots in stitchdown construction characteristic of classic PNW workboots. They also make a wide range of other stitchdown and goodyear-welted boots and shoes (and more recently, sneakers). High-end leathers come from a range of tanneries. I find their sizing to be similar to UK sizing, though I recommend trying on in-person at one of their retailers if that is an option. Still made in Victoria, BC.

  • Canada West Boots

    • Goodyear-welted western and cowboy boots made in Winnipeg, MB.

  • Boulet Boots

    • Western and cowboy boots, some other welted styles as well. Made in Canada.

  • Pajar Heritage

    • Pajar has outsourced manufacturing for several of its designs. Its heritage line, specifically, still includes boots made in Quebec.

  • Laurentian Chief

    • Moccasins made in Canada.

  • Bastien

    • Moccasins made in Canada.

  • Raber Glove

    • Best known for their “Garbage mitts,” those heavily insulated cowhide mitts you’ll see on the hands of in-the-know folks who work outside in the cold. They make a range of other mitts and gloves as well. Made in Canada.

  • Hides in Hand

    • Mitts, moccasins, and other leather goods made in Ontario.

  • Bill Worb Furs Inc.

    • Hood ruffs, fur headwear, mitts, moccasins, and a range of leather and fur supplies for crafting. Lots of native-made goods. Based in Manitoba.

  • Bilodeau

    • Fur mitts, headwear, boots, and jackets. Made in Quebec.

  • Fourrures Grenier

    • Fur and leather gloves, hats, boots, and clothing made in Quebec.
