On Newbury Streen (Boston) do not overlook the nice consignment shops. They are full of many of the same clothes that the designer stores are, but at reduced prices. You can see a list here . One of the few Zara stores in the area is on Newbury. There is also an American Apparel that you can get your basics (plain t-shirts) from. You might also like Ted Baker, Ben Sherman, and Express for slightly better looking clothes, but don't spend too much. With your budget, I would really avoid most of the big name designer brand stores. Walk down Newbury street. It's a rather short walk packed with stores. Then perhaps walk through the prudential center mall. Contains all the usual suspects: Jcrew, BR, and a bunch of other cool shops. The Tannery has Naked and Famous denim, plus a ton of other quality brands. More on reddit.com
