I use the Decathlon down winter jackets. Price is fair, quality is great. They keep me warm while I hike and camp sub zero here in Canada. Consider layers. I don't sound like a trash bag when I wear them, too. More on reddit.com

February 6, 2024Is there any lightweight down jacket that can keep me warm from 10ºF-25ºF with just a t-shirt or long-sleeve underneath?
The problem is, it's a personal thing.
I.e.
I have the cheap AliExpress jacket (L is about 230 or 240g) which I've tested to -10°C (14f) with just a t-shirt underneath. I could have gone lower, but I'm comfortable in a t-shirt at more or less freezing temperatures for a while.
My partner with the same jacket is good down to -6°C (21f) but feels a bit cold below that.
My hiking buddy can only take the jacket down to about -2°C (28f).
The only way to be sure is to try it, although you can increase your odds by comparing with users who have similar tolerances to you.
