Do men have to wear a suit to a summer wedding?
What fabrics are suitable for men’s summer wedding attire?
Do men have to wear a tie to a summer wedding?
Hi,
I am a man invited to a friend's evening summer wedding that states:
We'd love to see our family and friends get dressed up for our big day. Dress code is cocktail attire. Ladies you can wear a midi or floor length dress. Gentlemen can wear slacks and button down shirt with tie. Please no jeans, sneakers, and of course, no wearing white or any shades of white.
I thought cocktail attire typically means a suit&tie so the advice seems contradictory here about only a shirt & tie.
I do have a Navy Suit but it is too tight I suspect (see Imgur here), so I'm wondering if it's worth spending >$600 on a new suit. The jacket I have isn't bad when unbuttoned.
What would you do?
Hey folks,
We want to marry more legere. My wife has a simple but beautiful white dress thats wearable for every other nicer occasion. Though my first thought was to wear a nice chino probably on the spectrum of brown with a white or blue jacket shirt combination but she ABSOLUTELY dont want anything resembling a suit, not even a jacket.
So i‘m a bit lost the only thing for me imaginable is just the chino and shirt combination but that’s like my everyday look. Is there anything else i could do to upgrade this or should i just buy this look but with far better quality as i normally wear 😅
Google searches was completely not helpful because almost every picture is at least with a picture.
It would help me a lot if you folks have links or pictures for your recommendations.
What are you wearing to a wedding this summer? I've got a wedding in mid-July that I'll be attending (as a guest, not in the wedding party), and am trying to figure out what to wear. Any advice/guidance/recommendations on styles or places to look?
There are two main events that I need help with - the reception and the ceremony itself. The dress code is described as "cocktail attire" and "summer formal" respectively. For more context, this wedding will be in upstate New York in the Adirondacks/Tupper Lake area with a relatively affluent crowd.
I've been wanting to update my closet anyway, so let's say I need a full set for both nights, but shoes not included. I'm not on a shoe-string budget, but I'm also not looking to blow out my budget. Let's say around $500 total, no more than $1000, but I'm not married (badum tss) to that number if it needs to move around.
