r/csMajors on Reddit: how to get into Meta university?
November 15, 2024 -

I'm an international freshman, I know python, django , django rest framework, some basics of java, htmls, css

I think I'm already too late for summer 2025, so what do you think I should be doing to get into Meta University for summer 2026?

Do you have any advices or any sort of road map for me? Any legit and more descriptive suggestions other than just learn what interests you and build projects. Should I stick with django, drf and build projects or what should i learn and how? I am just so confused about what to learn, what kind of projects to build

Has anyone received the OA for Meta’s University Grad SWE role? Just curious what the difficulty was like, more like easy/medium LeetCode or leaning towards harder ones? Trying to get an idea of what to expect.

r/leetcode on Reddit: Got the Meta New Grad 2025 Offer!
November 13, 2024 -

Hey guys, I received the offer for the Software Engineer (University Grad) 2025 at Meta yesterday! I mostly followed whatever fellow Redditors recommended and would like to share my experience too.

Round 1 (Technical): 2 LC Mediums - solved both optimally but fumbled with the time complexity of the 2nd question. Was a couple of minutes over time. Did dry run with test cases for the first but could not do so for the second.

Round 2 (Technical): 1 LC Medium, 1 LC Hard - solved both optimally, again ran out of time to do verification for the 2nd question, which was hard.

Round 3 (Behavioral): Pretty neutral. The interviewer did not give away any cues and I felt like I definitely could have answered a couple of questions better.

Round 4 (Technical): 1 LC Medium, 1 LC Hard - This was the one where there was one extra interviewer attending with camera off. As always I ran out of time on the hard question - this time I could not code it completely after the interviewer said he had understood my approach and asked me to stop coding since we were out of time. But I did manage to solve the first one optimally and gave an optimal approach for the 2nd question too.

Some general takeaways:

  • I definitely got lucky - 5/6 of the LC questions were from the top 100 tagged - so all that advice to do it paid off big time.

  • I also did around 50% of Neetcode 150 and I think this provided me with a solid base before I started off with the tagged questions.

  • I practiced on Coderpad for a bit too, just to get a feel of the platform.

  • I was pretty conscious of following through with what they had written in the prep document they give you once you are advanced to the interview stage, specifically the four main parts of Communication, Problem Solving, Coding and Verification. I strongly felt like you need to show signals on all four counts to be considered a strong candidate.

  • For behavioral, I made sure to add a line mentioning what impact my actions had on the overall team/organization at the end.

I am really happy as I didn't have any other interview calls at the moment and Meta had been one of my dream companies to join! While I did work hard, luck and many other external factors + support were a giant aid. Best of luck to all of you folks out there and please feel free to reach out with any questions!

Meta University 2025 : r/csMajors
January 7, 2024 - did mine a few days ago, also scared but I have been hearing that metaU in general has been paused to focus on sending back RO's to previous interns, so it's not just our results being paused but the OA's and interview scheduling etc.

r/csMajors on Reddit: ghosted after final interview? meta university 2025
July 2, 2024 -

Its been 3 months since I finished my final round interview for meta new grad SWE. Granted, I finished in December so I gave benefit of the doubt for a slow timeline b/c hiring freeze and also holidays but 3 months is too crazy yea? I know Meta is super super behind and backlogged on recruiting but still. 3 months post interview no response....
My recruiter still responds to my emails in a very timely manner (same day responses) But its always just "things are out of my control, I will try to speed things up as much as possible"

I guess I want an absolute rejection over a ghosting for peace of mind but who knows? Is there still hope or should I accept the reality and move on.

Thanks!

I currently have a referral for Meta, and I'm trying to apply to the SWE University Grad that they just released. However, when I'm trying to add the job title from the referral page, it does not show it at all. Does anyone know whether they allow referrals for that role or not? Has anyone able to do it? Also, is that for people who are going to graduate in May 2026?

r/csMajors on Reddit: how i landed Meta as a freshman (non-target)
December 14, 2024 -

been lurking on the sub for a while, seen a lot of doomers. there's hope, I just got the meta email yesterday night and I go to a no-namer uni

here is what worked for me:

ngl, you got to be down bad for opportunities. down atrocious for internships.

here's what I did:

get that referral first! don't blame lack of connections or how it is unfair, its still a meritocracy for those that go out and choose to pursue them. no-life linkedIn blast out message requests to get a referral (warm up the conversation first). also, the church community is op, you wanna find some sort of network of working adults later into their career to get referrals. note that, meta won't give bonuses to employees for referrals anymore (they just started this)

highly recc competitive programming through code forces/ICPC. recruiters start salivating when they read this. gotta be good though, have an intimate knowledge of the language you work with. competitive programming will translate nicely into technical interview prep.

your resume cannot be basic, there needs to be some sort of differentiator. try to find an angle to sell yourself during the interview. projects shouldn't be basic try to find something clickbaity, much more memorable.

leetcode is your life, just stay consistent and it'll pay off. me and my friends used an app to keep each other accountable for solving leetcode daily. It was solid for keeping each other accountable, it was sort of like BeReal for group habits where everyone needs to post a picture of a leetcode solution by midnight or the streak ends.

also, don't focus on your current stage of skills, focus on the velocity of your growth. spend some time reviewing your week and measure your growth and find spots to optimize. to keep it real with you, your time is limited, give it a complete effort.

you're gmi

edit: someone requested for the app name in the comments so i pasted it there

shooting from half court for these internships:

Just got into Meta University!!! : r/csMajors
October 28, 2023 - question! according to your experience, do you think Meta University wants someone to show them that they've done a lot of projects, or taken on some internships or do they want someone without a lot of experience but shows that they want to learn maybe by building one project and that would be it?

I’ve recently completed the codesignal OA. Got first 3 questions correct and in the last question my code was passing all the test cases. However, when I tried to submit it, I got a warning regarding the execution time.

1- How long does it take to recieve a reply ?

2- Do I have any chance to get an interview?

r/csMajors on Reddit: Meta SWE (University Grad) posting disappeared before I could apply — will it come back?
June 30, 2025 -

I was about to apply for the Meta Software Engineer (University Grad) role, but the posting disappeared from the careers site yesterday before I had the chance.

Does this mean the role is already filled, or is there a chance it could reopen later? Has anyone seen Meta (or other big tech) take a job posting down and then put it back up?

Just wondering if I should keep checking the site or move on.
