Built myself one of those collapsible fire pits. Works great! All cut from a single sheet of 4x4ft material!

so only about 400-500 bucks at current steel prices. Edit, my bad saw the 4x4 sheet...still 200-250 in steel. Nice pit but steel prices suck to be making any cool stuff for home right now. More on reddit.com

Free Sheet Metal Fire Pit 2 Project (Link to Google Drive - dxf, PDF)

A couple of months ago I posted a free project for a fire pit, a couple of people have already made it, these are their examples. I will leave a link to the project below on google drive. Production is implied from steel 1.5 ... 3mm, although the design was implied as a team, but after assembly it is better to weld the structure, otherwise the fire pit will stagger.
